Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The presented article represents the development and research of a floating greenhouse for growing mushrooms. The topic of the article is relevant and may be of interest to specialists and researchers in the fields of precision agriculture and sustainable development. The article presents calculated and experimental data, discusses the design and operation process of the developed floating greenhouse, however, several points should be noted as recommendations and comments:

1. The authors should slightly expand the literature review on the topic under consideration by including modern and relevant publications from highly rated international journals.

2. What are the benefits of creating floating greenhouses? What advantages and benefits do they have compared to above-ground greenhouses?

3. How do the authors plan to scale the developed architecture and system with Arduino to larger industrial facilities? It would not be amiss to post a diagram of the connection of electronic components and a block diagram of the controller.

4. All figures and tables must be referenced in the text with the corresponding numbers of figures and tables. The quality of Figure 1 should be improved by the authors. Figures 3-5 should be combined. It is better to divide Figures 7, 8 and 11 and describe each element separately, titling them accordingly. The titles of Tables 2 and 4 should be edited. What conclusions can be drawn from Table 4?

5. The authors should describe in more detail the substrate used, the composition of the water for irrigation, as well as the operation of the developed mobile application.

6. How long can the developed system work autonomously? How will the system be powered when there is no solar radiation and the battery power is depleted?

7. Authors should add a section “Directions for further research,” where authors should describe planned work on the topic under consideration.

In general, the presented article leaves a positive impression, however, it is not without shortcomings. After eliminating these comments and taking into account the recommendations made, the presented article may be of interest to readers of the journal "AgriEngineering".

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Authors should carefully proofread the text of the article to avoid spelling and punctuation errors, and also seek help from a native English speaker for final proofreading of the text.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1.     What is the main question addressed by the research?

The main question of the paper Modern floating greenhouses: Planting gray oyster mushrooms  with advanced management technology mobile phone algorithms and Arduino remote control” is to present a smart floating greenhouse that can be controlled remotely to cultivate oyster mushrooms in order to increase the yield per planting area.

2. Do you consider the topic original or relevant in the field? Does it
address a specific gap in the field?

The originality of this article consists in investigating the fundamentals of cultivating oyster mushrooms in floating greenhouses consisting of designing and constructing a floating greenhouse with a remote-control system with main components that can be operated using a mobile phone and an Arduino. The experiment data were analysed by using SPSS 10.0 software.

3. What does it add to the subject area compared with other published
material?

The present article does not make a comparison of the existing situation in the field, but it presents very clearly, in detail and in stages both the way to obtain this system and a series of economic analyses, energy consumption and interest on investment.

4. What specific improvements should the authors consider regarding the
methodology? What further controls should be considered?

It would be interesting to analyze a longer period, but this study can also be done in other articles.

I want to congratulate the authors for the effort they made to include valuable information and details that may be useful for other researchers.

5. Are the conclusions consistent with the evidence and arguments presented
and do they address the main question posed?

The conclusions are clear and express the basic ideas resulting from the current study.

6. Are the references appropriate?

The 19 references are eloquent and appropriate for the article

7. Please include any additional comments on the tables and figures.

The 14 figures included in the current study are clear and easy to understand

Best regards,

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript entitled as “Modern floating greenhouses: Planting gray oyster mushrooms with advanced management technology mobile phone algorithms and Arduino remote control” highlights the importance of floating greenhouses which is an interesting topic and have been addressed in this article. The research aimed to investigate the fundamentals of cultivating oyster mushrooms in floating greenhouses. Authors have performed well-organized research by performing various tests that are involved in analyzing variables such as growth time, temperature, humidity, and weight to determine the most suitable temperature and humidity levels for growing and to increase mushroom production in a floating greenhouse.

But I have some minor concerns that needs to be addressed by the authors and then article can be accepted for publication.

The authors needs to revise the title and it can be “Modern floating greenhouses: Planting gray oyster mushrooms with advanced management technology including mobile phone algorithms and Arduino remote control”.

There are some typo and grammatical errors authors need to consider such as;

Line 22 “In addition, we developed a unit” should be replaced by “In addition, we have developed a unit”.

Line 93-95 “The tests will involve analyzing variables such as growth time, temperature, humidity, and weight to determine the most suitable temperature and humidity levels for growing produce in a floating greenhouse”. Please rewrite this sentence especially replace the last section “humidity levels for growing produce in a floating greenhouse”.

Line 100 “-ature and humidity for the growth of produce”.

What is mean by produce here?

Line 100-101 “Test variables include the growth period, mushroom weight, temperature, and humidity”. Remove the before growth period.

Line 101 “The design criteria and specifications, as”. Please rewrite as “The design criteria and specifications are as”.

Line 192 “The Digital Number (DN) values obtained will be used to calibrate the delay setting for” can be rewrite as “The Digital Number (DN) values that are being obtained will be used to calibrate the delay setting for”.

I suggest authors should cite some more recent references related to their work.
