Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The study “Seeking Sweetness: A systematic scoping review of factors influencing sugar-sweetened beverage consumption in remote Indigenous communities worldwide” by Jessica Cartwright, Michael Netzel, Yasmina Sultanbawa and Olivia Wrigh present an interest Systematic Scoping Review paper, with important data for further researches

However the manuscript must be improved before acceptance.

In the affiliation the author names abbreviation is need like appear in the author contributions

Between the number and the unit, a space is needed revise in all document

Why in line 100 “The LANCET” is in caps look and in other parts no?

In line 115 the Reference “Browne et al. (2020)” is not in accordance with the guidelines

Table 1 is difficult to read and understand and difficult to understand what is between “( )”

Line 155: What “JC and OW” is? It is J.C. and O.W.? if yes, is not need this information at this point in the manuscript. The same in other parts of the manuscript.

Table 2 the references are not in accordance to the guidelines. In this table appear a Y a this means Yes, mas is important put this in the legend. Also, in the table the authors use S1 and S2 and their means must be also in the legend. The criteria used in this table (1.1, 1.2 …..) are not in accordance with the previously reported where the Authors use  I, II…. I think a table with the list of the criteria like they appear in the table 2 could help the redness of this table.

Table 3 is not well formatted, the words are coted wrongly and is difficult to read, maybe if the author rotate the page 90° is better. Again, the format of the references is not in accordance with the guidelines. Revise in all tables

Line 257: in “3.4.1 Individual level: ” do not use “:” and the end of a subtitle, revise in all document

Line 254: Figure 2 appears after 3 pages and must be closer of their reference.

Table 4 have a different format of the others. Please be consistent in all manuscript

Table 5 – 18 pages for a one table is not recommended. This table is very difficult to read and confuse, is better rearrange the information in a better way.

Line 338: Dono et al. (2020) – the reference is not in accordance with the guidelines – revise in all manuscript

Revise the reference list because are not in accordance with the guidelines for authors

Reviewer 2 Report

Review for the manuscript entitled Seeking Sweetness: A systematic scoping review of factors influencing sugar-sweetened beverage consumption in remote Indigenous communities worldwide (beverages-2100285)

The manuscript presents an interesting review about the factors influencing sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption in remote indigenous communities. The study is well designed - the authors followed the PRISMA guidelines - and the data and the results are clearly presented. Authors identified and discussed extensively the individual, interpersonal, environmental and policy factors that impact the consumption of SSB. The manuscript is carefully and well written and I could not identify any typos or misspellings.

My only suggestion is to increase the font of the Figure 1 (L198-199), which can hardly be read when the article is printed.
