Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This essay is original and a good contribution to the humanities.  The presentation of the research is well designed.  The essay is very clear.  Maybe at the end of the essay the final discussion and conclusion could be integrated under one section.

Author Response

Reviewer 2 Report

This article presents an in-depth empirical analysis of 30 American animated films in which the L3 is portrayed as a major vehicle for character portrayal rather than merely marking location or nationality. With a wide range of examples, the article succussively demonstrates how code-switching serves as a tool for expressing the ethnolinguistic distinctiveness of the non-mainstream societies. This article should definitely be considered for publication.
