Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

After a careful revision I consider the article 'Rejected', here are some of my comments which can enhance the standard of the journal for further understanding.

1. the chemical composition of the samples must be analyzed according to the vector analytical data with respect to the numerical variation where the understanding between the AOD of the system and the sample result must be clear and brief enough.

2. The overall chemical composition of the elemental analysis must be captivated with respect to the composition and configuration bases where the adjutant chemical dites of each element with numerical data must be added.

Author Response

The article has been linguistically reviewed by a reviewer whose native language is English.

The table with the average chemical composition and with the standard deviation of the values was included in the text. The table contains data for technologies with and without AOD.

A paragraph on the success of using various artificial intelligence methods was added to the literature review.

At the end of the chapter on results and discussion, all results are briefly summarized.

Reviewer 2 Report

This article has described interesting topic in the industry and I would consider this article as beneficial with a potential for further research and simulations. There are few things that need to be considered:

- Indicate in the introduction if anyone has tried to perform similar data analysis and production process control using AI, in which areas and with what results.

- Fix formatting - Page 3 of 15 is completely blank with one blank line, page numbers are repeated in the text, etc.

- I suppose the Error report should not be the part of the text – line 160 and others in the text.

- Revision of the English is necessary, especially with regard to misspelled words

- What is missing from the discussion is an elaboration of the reason for the specific defects or group. You only give the results, the accuracy of the predictions, and a description of them, but these measurements and predictions were, according to the aims, made with a purpose other than just to check whether it was possible.

The purpose of our work was only to find out whether we could improve the quality of hot-rolled plates by making minor engineering changes. We did not look for the causes of individual defects in the plates.

Blank page removed, numbering error corrected.

Reviewer 3 Report

The study is interesting and the reviewer considers that the manuscript can be published in this journal. However, there are some points that need to be improved.

- The manuscript need to be written in 3rd person of singular;

- In order to better understand the defect size it is useful to include the real defects considered;

- The models need to be validated with a real plate in order to analyse the accuracy of models.

Author Response

The article was linguistically reviewed by a reviewer whose native language is English.
The available data on defects on hot rolled plates contained only qualitative results, a code for the type of defect, but no quantitative information, e.g., crack size and number of cracks on the plate... so I cannot provide this information.
The industrial database contained data on the production technology of individual batches and on the quality of hot-rolled plates. We used 70% of the database to develop the model and then tested it on the remaining 30%. We did not change the production technology, so further testing of the model would not have been useful.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

after careful consideration, I accept the article in its current form.
