Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

A very interesting paper has been submitted. The authors proposed a novel method for analyzing the dynamic behavior of planetary gear systems with the flexible ring gear. The Paper is well organized. Achieved results are thoroughly analyzed. I have only two remarks:

1) Several times in the paper the unit "r/min" appears. If it is the unit of linear speed v it should be m/min or mm/min if it relates to rotational velocity (n, omega) you should use: rpm, rev/min, or rad/min.

2) Language is rough in some places. Please check the text in terms of colloquial phrases before publication.

The above remarks yield the review to recommend the paper for publication after minor revisions which are outlined.

Response: Thanks for the reviewer's valuable advice. The author corrected the units in the text and marked them in red.

Response: Thanks for the reviewer's valuable advice. The author reviewed the language of the article. The colloquial phrases have been modified.

Reviewer 2 Report

Thanks to the authors for an interesting text. I think it points well to the general issue of the influence of the rigidity of the construction of housings and other components of gearboxes on their resulting properties. I also think that the approach chosen is very clever. Nevertheless, I could not forgive a few comments on the first half of the text, where the authors confidently claim that the chosen approach to modeling the stiffness of teeth mesh describes its true character. I have some doubts about this statement, although, I repeat, I consider the chosen approach to be smart. I would recommend the authors to add to the introductory first half of the text at least a mention about the stiffness models used with a brief comparison of these models with their approach. This should show the limitations that follow from the chosen approach, and these limitations should be at least in some form mentioned in the text. For the second half of the text, I have no comments. I consider this part to be factually correct and presented in an adequate context.

Reviewer 3 Report

I have no suggestions and comments on the article.
I consider the article to be well and clearly processed.

The authors could modify the formatting in point c) on page 3. There are three points (1), (2), and (3) in point c). I recommend putting each point on a new line. As the authors used on page 16.

The text in the green box in Figure 10 (a) is very small. It would be appropriate to enlarge it for better readability.

I would extend the introduction. It would be interesting for me to find out which author (reference) specifically dealt with something. The authors have summed it up very briefly, in my opinion.

Response: Thanks for the reviewer's valuable advice. The author has enlarged the text  in the green box in Figure 10(a).

Response: According to the opinions of reviewers. The emphasis of the author is to introduce the new modeling methods and application scope. Due to the length of the article, some references are not necessary to describe in detail.

Reviewer 4 Report

The presented scientific contribution entitled Establishment of precise rigid-flexible coupling model of planetary gear Train and analysis of structural vibration of flexible ring gear deals with a very current topic. The authors of the scientific contribution have extensively worked out a simulation of different flexible ring gear variants. I have the following comments on the scientific contribution:

  • there are typos in the scientific contribution,
  • the power unit is incorrectly listed in Table 1,
  • insufficiently processed introduction,
  • absence of international references.

Response: Thanks for the reviewer's valuable advice. The author checked the words in the text and corrected the words with spelling errors.

  • The power unit is incorrectly listed in Table 1.

Response: Thanks for the reviewer's valuable advice. The author revises the unit of power in Table 1.

  • Insufficiently processed introduction.

Response: According to the opinions of reviewers, the author adds new additions and clarifications to the introduction in the article.

  • Absence of international references.

Response: According to the opinions of reviewers, the author consulted relevant references, but failed to find a suitable new international reference. I sincerely apologize for not being able to add further international references.
