Interval estimation for the two-parameter exponential distribution based on the upper record values

The paper under review deals with a two-parameter exponential distribution where based on upper record values an interval estimation of the scale parameter is proposed and the joint confidence region is determined. In addition, to optimal estimation, and simulation, the author provides a biometrical example.

I found the paper interesting. I recommend it for publication after major revision.  Below are some suggestions:

·       While the paper is well-written, I recommend the authors double-check the paper for typos for example:

o   page 4, line 89 missing bracket

o   page 6, line 133

o   page 7, line 169, no space between for thetha is

o   page 8, line 171, missing space

·       Page 2, line 78, define \chi

·       Change Theroem1 to proposition1, the result is straightforward.

·       Page 4, line 99, the mathematical expression is not clear. It is supposed to be an interval, but we can see the symbol “<”: rewrite it in a better way.

·       Page 4, line 107, there is a comma in the middle of the probability expression. This does not make any sense. Double-check

·       Page 5, lines 112, 113, and 114 are confusing. L_1 can be written after the equality in 114.

·       Page 5, lines 123-124, the mathematical expression is not clear. It is supposed to be an interval, but we can see the symbol “<”: rewrite it in a better way.

·       Page 6, lines 140-143 are confusing. U_2 and L_2 can be written after the equalities in 142 and 143.

·       Page 7, line 164, “in Theorems 1-5”, there are no theorems 4, 5. Correct it to 1-3.

·       Page 8, right after line 179, provide some analysis/comment on the figure and the results of the biometrical example.

·       Page 8, conclusion needs to be improved

·       Add some additional references on distributions and their applications such as

o   https://doi.org/10.1108/JES-04-2016-0083   (other distributions used for finance)

o   https://doi.org/10.1080/03610926.2011.599002 (other distributions)
