Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

the authors aimed to evaluate the ecological security and carry out research on the restoration and governance of the national territory. Their objective was to facilitate precise restoration, reduce ecological restoration costs, and enhance ecological restoration benefits. The Shule River basin, a typical arid inland river, was used as a case study.

1. In this paper, the connotation of the ecological security evaluation index system is wrong, which may be that the suitability index used as the ecological security index.

2. Based on the perspective of three-life space, the ecological security of production space may be unreasonable from the perspective of drawing and ecological security.

3. From the perspective of ecological space division, the final division result is unreasonable.

4, In this paper, many concepts was mixed, or more serious.

5. Many references in the article are not standardized

Reviewer 2 Report

The study evaluated the ecological security status at the raster scale and conducted research on the restoration and governance of the national territory, with the aim of implementing accurate restoration, reducing ecological restoration costs , and increasing ecological restoration benefits. I noted that the authors have already adjusted the text according to the comments of other reviewers.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript has the purpose of implementing a precise restoration, reducing the costs of ecological restoration and increasing the benefits of ecological restoration in the arid inland Shule River Watershed, with factors that influence regional ecological security are obtained by spatial analysis principal component analysis and the ecological safety index at the production grid scale.

Currently, food security, considering land uses, has become a topic of fundamental importance at a global level.

This manuscript used the Sentinel satellite to assess the influences of hydrological conditions.

The methodology is very well explained, rare manuscripts present this detail.

The results show that the ecological space of the Shule river basin represents 79.23%, but the desert ecological system with low capacity of ecosystem services is the main type. The production space represents only 7.47%. This demonstrates the high quality of the manuscript results. These results can be referenced by other researchers on a global scale.

The references are correct and the context is innovative.

The manuscript demonstrates a good graphic quality.

Round 2

1)There are many mistakes in the references in this paper, and should be unified, for example,In the preface of the article, the references [13][14][15] are quoted in a different way from the previous ones. "12Error! Reference source not found. ", was it a clerical error? How to understand the phrase "among others 192021",222324",29303132[33],”and the consideration of engineering connotations and innovative countermeasures 3637”,” ecological space 4647”?

2)The first occurrence of the"TOPSIS method" should be marked all.

3) the description of figure and table names in the paper is simple and concise. I recommend that the author systematically review and accurately describe the graphs and tables in the paper. such as, “Figure 1. Overview of study area”,” Figure 2. analytical framework”, and so on.

Extensive editing of English language required.
