Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The author- Dr. Ueda describes ANXA2 flop-out would play key roles in a non-vesicular and non-classical release of DAMPs/alarmins. The manuscript is important and easy to read, it would be popular with the readers. The manuscript could be accepted in current form.

Reviewer 2 Report

The author and his research group have published many excellent papers in high quality international journals over the past few years on the molecular mechanisms involved in ProTα which is involved with necrosis and apoptosis. This is an excellent paper that deserves to be published in Cell. This is a good paper to consider the molecular mechanism of the inhibition of necrosis and spoptosis in neurons.

I see no major problems, but it would be desirable to obtain confirmation from a native English speaker.
