Very well written manuscript. I only have minor comments.

References: 15, 16: Seems like one reference. Similar issues with references (25-28). Also, on pg. 2, line 56 (ref 16-20) these focus on inner ear and not retina/eye. Please remove these references and replace with retina specific.

The entire manuscript needs to be reformatted as the reference numbers will change (see points above).
