Synthesis and Characterization of Polyethylene Glycol-Grafted Photoreactive Polyethylene Glycols for Antibiofouling Applications
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
In this article, the Authors presented the surface modification of polystyrene with polyethylene glycol-grafted polyethylene glycols bearing azidophenyl groups. The developed polymer suppressed nonspecific interactions between proteins and cells on the substrate and appear to be useful in biomaterial preparation. In my opinion, this study is very interesting and will be of considerable interest to the readership of Polymers in the area of antibiofouling materials. The Authors carefully carried out the research of the results. The article was written very clearly and correctly. Therefore, I would like to recommend this article for publication in Polymers.

To whom it may concern:
The following comments concern the manuscript polymers-2084416. The manuscript is well prepared and the results are promising. There are some minor suggestions can be improved before publication.
1. In the introduction, some examples with references for antibiofouling applications will be helpful.
2. Line 90, the ultraviolet absorbance spectra is measured by which instrument? Information should be given.
3. Table 1 should be relocated after the text (Table 1).
4. Information concerning the scale bars in Figure 4 is missing.
5. Some potential applications of present work may be helpful before the conclusion.
