The paper deals with the suitability of spruce and larch bark for the production of cement-bonded composites. However, some minor revisions are required before accepted for publication. Please revise the manuscript as per the recommendations given. This paper requires thorough proofreading. Please check the entire paper for the grammatical errors.
- The introduction needs to be written. The references need to elaborate. It needs to add some references.

Author Response
Dear Reviewer,
Many thanks for the improvement suggestions.
We have updated the manuscript according to your recommendations as follows:
- Introduction: New information was added at Page 2, lines 75-76, 83, 85-89 and 91-99.
- The figures were replaced with higher resolution ones.
- The discussion of results was improved by adding two industrial manufactured products that belong to the composites with cement included in the lightweight category, namely Isolith (cement bonded wood wool composite) and Thermospan (cement bonded wood chips composite). At Page 10 were added lines 305-310, Figure 8 and at Page 11 lines 314-320.
Best regards,
The authors.
