Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Although this is an interesting and important article, it cannot be recommended for publication because it needs some improvement and clarification.

1.     Although the abstract refers to the mechanism of energy transfer, these possible mechanisms are not discussed in the introduction. Some mechanisms were considered:

Pankratov, V., et al. "Mechanism for energy transfer processes between Ce3+ and Tb3+ in LaPO4: Ce, Tb nanocrystals by time‐resolved luminescence spectroscopy." physica status solidi (b) 247 (2010): 2252-2257.

Van Wijngaarden, J. T., et al. "Energy transfer mechanism for downconversion in the (Pr 3+, Yb 3+) couple." Physical Review B 81 (2010): 155112.

Burtan-Gwizdala, Bozena, et al. "Enhanced Emission of Tellurite Glass Doped with Pr3+/Ho3+ and Their Applications." Materials 16 (2023): 925.

2.     Line 185. Sentence: “…reported by Van Uitert [26,27] ”  References 26, 27 refer to other authors.

3.     To what extent are the considered phosphors free from structural vacancies? And can vacancies participate in transfer processes?

4.     The data of Fig. 5 (g, h) need error bars.

In general, the manuscript is interesting and can be recommended for publication after constructive reflection on the above comments.

There are some small observations:

- Double perovskite phosphors have been investigated and is useful/better to include references such as: Zheng Lu et al. Double Perovskite Mn4+-Doped La2CaSnO6/La2MgSnO6 Phosphor for Near-Ultraviolet Light Excited W-LEDs and Plant Growth Molecules 2022, 27, 7697; Qian Wu et al. Near-Infrared Emitting Phosphor LaMg0.5(SnGe)0.5O3:Cr3+ for Plant Growth Applications: Crystal Structure, Luminescence, and Thermal Stability Inorg. Chem. 2021, 60, 21, 16593–16603

and other relevant ones

- An electron microscopy image(SEM) and EDX would be welcome…

- In the conclusion is better to be extend the advance and the importance of the new knowledge acquired
