Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper discusses the evaluation and assessment of sustainable leadership concerning enterprises' circular economy-driven innovative activities. It highlights the necessity for businesses to adapt and remain innovative while emphasizing the ethical and economic dimensions of sustainable innovation management. The paper introduces an improved comprehensive approach for evaluating the effectiveness of managing innovative activities within enterprises based on 14 partial indicators reflecting specific vector orientations. This method combines indicators representing the personal characteristics of managers with formative and resulting factors of management's influence on innovative activity, culminating in a multifaceted evaluation. The proposed assessment was applied to seven industrially active enterprises, resulting in the calculation of various components evaluating leadership effectiveness. The paper also forecasts the impact of external and internal factors on economic development based on the assessment's results.

My Comments:

1) How were the 14 partial indicators chosen, and what criteria were used to ensure they comprehensively cover the diverse aspects of sustainable leadership in innovation?

2) What steps were taken to ensure the reliability and validity of the proposed assessment method in capturing the effectiveness of sustainable leadership within circular economy-driven innovation?

3) Could the proposed approach be implemented beyond the studied industrial enterprises, considering variations in industry types and sizes, to ensure its broad applicability?

4) How did the study effectively balance the subjective nature of expert evaluations with the objectivity of internal reporting in calculating the different components of leadership effectiveness?

5) How were the external and internal factors isolated and accounted for in forecasting their influence on economic consequences, considering the complex interplay of various external factors?

6) Is the proposed assessment method scalable for enterprises undergoing various stages of growth and adaptable to different industry contexts?

7) How does the paper suggest assessing the long-term impact of sustainable leadership on circular economy-driven innovation, considering the evolving nature of these enterprises?

8) How does the proposed methodology compare with existing models or frameworks used for evaluating sustainable leadership in innovation management?

9) Were sensitivity analyses or robustness checks performed to evaluate the assessment method's performance under varying conditions or assumptions?

10) In what ways does the assessment method specifically incorporate circular economy principles within the evaluation of sustainable leadership, beyond traditional economic indicators?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper discusses the performance assessment of sustainable leadership of different enterprises. The proposal is well established and the concept is quite appealing. However, the review believes that it would be more in depth if the paper can include a case study to showcase how the model and proposal actually works.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear authors,

The manuscript aims to explore the performance of sustainable leadership in enterprises focused on circular economy-driven innovative activities. It recognizes the growing need for businesses to adapt to change, pursue innovation responsibly, and explore new avenues for revenue generation through sustainable management practices. The introduction emphasizes the importance of sustainable management in the context of innovation, highlighting the need for a balance between economic, social, and environmental aspects of development. The literature review outlines the complexities of leadership and the need for a comprehensive approach to evaluate the effectiveness of management in innovative activities. It stresses the importance of personal characteristics of leaders and the necessity of forming effective leadership, considering both the intellectual component and the effectiveness of influence on innovative activities.

<Strengths>

The methodology section presents a well-structured model for evaluating the effectiveness of management of innovative activities. It breaks down the evaluation process into personal, managerial, and innovative & sustainable components, with clear indicators for each. This approach seems thorough and well-conceived, allowing for a multifaceted evaluation of sustainable leadership. However, the methodology could benefit from further elaboration on how these indicators were selected and their validation. The construction of an integral indicator for evaluating management effectiveness is innovative and rigorous. The use of weighted Euclidean distance method for calculation is particularly noteworthy, as it provides a balanced way to quantify management effectiveness. This section is well-articulated and provides a clear algorithm for constructing the integral indicator, which is crucial for the objectivity of the evaluation process.

<Areas for Improvement>

1. The manuscript could benefit from a more detailed explanation of the selection and validation of the assessment indicators. This would enhance the reader's understanding of how these indicators specifically contribute to the evaluation of sustainable management.

2. While the literature review is comprehensive, it could be improved by engaging with a broader range of sources, especially recent studies, to contextualize the research within current academic debates.

3. The discussion section would benefit from a deeper analysis of the results. Insights into how the findings compare with existing literature, and their implications for future research and practice in sustainable management, would be valuable.

4. The manuscript should discuss the practical applications of the research in greater detail, along with any limitations or potential biases in the methodology or data used.

5. It would be beneficial to suggest specific areas for future research, particularly focusing on how these findings can be applied in different industrial contexts or geographical regions.

Overall, the manuscript makes a significant contribution to the field of sustainable management, particularly in the context of circular economy-driven innovative activities. Its strengths lie in its rigorous methodology. However, by addressing the areas for improvement, the manuscript could offer a more comprehensive and impactful contribution to the field.

Based on the methodology, indicators of the effectiveness of the management of innovative activities are calculated for seven researched innovatively active industrial enterprises.

Then,  personal component of the evaluation of the effectiveness of leadership in innovative activities using the expert assessment toolkit; leadergerially-management component; innovatively-sustainable component of evaluation of the effectiveness of sustainable management of innovative activities based on the internal reporting of the enterprise, makes it possible to balance the partial subjectivity of the expert method

As a result, based on the values of the three components of the assessment, a comprehensive integral indicator of the effectiveness of management of the innovative activity of the enterprise is calculated.

Approbation of the proposed methodology proved its effectiveness and efficiency. The authors forecast the degree of influence of external and internal factors, taking into account the results of a comprehensive, integrated assessment of the effectiveness of sustainable management, on the economic development and indicators of enterprise's circular economy-driven innovative activities, which allows to significantly strengthen the resulting factors of management of innovative activities and predict specific final results of all innovative activities.

=> The work needs to be better presented in the form. The journal template was not respected and with this format the paper cannot be accepted.

Basically (and here again it is the structure that is lacking) the part of comparison with previous works has not been valued or put forward.

You need to rework the comparison part.

English also needs to be worked on, in order to better show the effectiveness of the results.
