Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article is very current. New solutions introduced by individual countries are necessary for the sustainable development of the economy, especially in the context of food production. In the presented research part, the high positive correlation between the variables, i.e. carbon dioxide emissions to agricultural land and fertilizers to arable land, prompts for further work on this issue. It is worth emphasizing in the discussion that the topic of the impact of food production on carbon dioxide emissions is very worrying and needs to be addressed. Please underline the practical nature of the presented research and emphasize it in the summary. The work should indicate recommendations for the actions of decision-making entities. The very up-to-date literature deserves recognition.

Reviewer 2 Report

When reviewing scientific papers for publication, I usually start with a general overview in terms of a structure, abstract, literature review, methodology, findings of the research, discussion, conclusions, as well as limitations of the study.

In the assessment of the paper submitted for the review, I specifically focused on the discussed issues, applied research methods and the scope of analysis of research results, as well as substantive content of the article and its structure.

I do however have some remarks and feedback on the study.

It is suggested that the authors make a specific discursive analysis of the past research.

Supplementary study scope or limitation.

Reviewer 3 Report

1. The work addresses data analysis with simple statistical techniques based on the use of commercial software in order to provide information about the export of agricultural products to the EU, but with doubtful scientific criteria about the quality of the data obtained and the results of statistical analysis obtained.
2. The methodological description was very brief and deals with a classical statistical technique, with little contribution in terms of innovation.
3. No approach on the uncertainty of the input data in the models was addressed by the authors. Despite this, the authors make decisions based on the results without any uncertainty criteria and adequate scientific critique to justify the dissemination of the work.
4. The manuscript looks more like a type of science based open access publishing industry with little real contribution to agricultural commercialization and safety on emissions and fertilizer use in agriculture.
