Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The draft of sustainability-2001718 reviewed the current research and application of arch structure model in coal mining. The following issues should be clarified.

1. Fig. 5 is not clear. Please reprocess this figure.

2. Please check the format of the references in the text. For example, “Zhao [63]…” should be “Zhao et al. [63]…”?

3. The authors should add the reviews of numerical simulation on arch structure model, which may be incomplete in the current context.

4. Numerical simulation loose layer arch is always based on discontinuous numerical method. More recent literatures on discontinuous numerical methods should be cited, for example,

(1) Three-dimensional discontinuous deformation analysis of failure mechanisms and movement characteristics of slope rockfalls. Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, 2022.

(2) Experimental verifications and applications of 3D‑DDA in movement characteristics and disaster processes of rockfalls. Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, 2021.

5. P15, “… and the grouting range is shown in Fig. 10”. However, there is no “Fig. 10” in the manuscript.

6. The future research on arch structure model in coal mining should be further summarized. In addition, the future research should be further condensed in Conclusion.

7. English writing should be checked.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper is well organized, and it is recommended to publish after minor revision. At present, the problem of the paper is that the author needs to supplement the relevant introduction of mechanical analysis and mechanism analysis on arch structure model in coal mining.

Reviewer 3 Report

Technically, the article is weak.   Substantive comments to the text: 1) The subject of the article is very ambitious, for which I would like to thank the authors. 2) What's new in the article? - please write it in an abstract that should be shortened. 3) In Introduction, please refer to the gas flow capacity of deposits.   Technical notes to the text 1) I would like a modern citation point for Table and Figure - own research. 2) Please add a legend or symbol to each one. 3) Separate citations for [1-11], [12-17] - up to four citations. 4) In the text of point 5, the order of Figures 3,4,5 should be created. 5) Insert the formula numbers into the text of the article. 6) Figure 11 item 16 should be Figure 10. 7) Reference - not included in the text [102], [103].
