Dear Reviewer,

I took into account your observations and operated accordingly, they being easy to identify in the new loaded form.

Jevons' idea of the "rebound effect" is used in the article. This idea comes from the 1865 work entitled "The Coal Question". The idea of rebound is important, but for your article the central hypothesis of Jevons' book is much more interesting. He noted the following: "I must point out the painful fact that such a rate of growth will before long render our consumption of coal comparable with the total supply. In the increasing depth and difficulty of coal mining we shall meet that vague, but inevitable boundary that will stop our progress ..... Suppose our progress to be checked within half a century, yet by that time our consumption will probably be three or four times what it now is, there is nothing impossible or improbable in this; It is a moderate assumption, considering that our consumption has increased eight-fold in the last sixty years. But how shortened and darkened will the prospects of the country appear, with mines already deep, fuel dear, and yet a high rate of consumption to keep up if we are not to retrograde."

I believe that the general reflection of the authors of the article contains the same logic as that of Jevons' text. It would be good to rethink the article under Jevons' text and ask why the rate of growth of renewable energy is what it is? Could you go faster? In which periods of your economic analysis has it grown the fastest? When has its growth rate accelerated? Has the growth rate of the incorporation of renewable energy entered diminishing returns?

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

We appreciate your comments, as well as the entire exposition of the ideas contained in Jevons' "The Coal Question" on the "rebound effect", published in 1865. We mention that the aspects expressed by you regarding the rethinking of the article to find answers to the aspects regarding renewable energy are reasonable and certainly represent a suggestion for the development of these aspects in a future study.

The topic raised by the authors seems to be an interesting and timely topic that is worth the attention of the journal. The authors have not maintained the proper structure of the article. I believe that the literature review section should be expanded, as well as the discussion section is missing, al well as limitations of the research and conclusions, which were written in an obtuse manner.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

I took into account your observations and operated accordingly. Thus, we reviewed the correct structure of the article in accordance with the journal’s guidelines. We put together the results and the discussions made in each section of the article, they are marked and easy to identify. I also introduced a point regarding the materials and methods used. In the conclusions, I mentioned the limitations of the research and the concern to expand the study on energy, which will continue to be a particularly important field, with effects on economic development as a whole.

Although you have not accepted my general suggestion, I understand your answer, but you should indicate the similarity of your approach with that of Jevons in 1865, either when they talk about the rebound effect, or better in the conclusions

Reviewer 3 Report

It is worth to publish this article, they may improve it, but still it is ok
