Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

1.      It appears that the crystallographic data have not been deposited with either the CCDC or COD (at least  corresponding information is absent from  the manuscript). For instructions see the section X-Ray Crystallographic Data of Instructions for Authors.

2.      Title: Check whether the letter “N” should written in Italics.

3.      Line 13: “via tandem one-pot under sonication” Noun missing after “one-pot”?

4.      Line 16: Delete “between”.

5.      Line 33: Delete either word: “shown revealed”

6.      Line 35:  “and for glutamate”?

7.      Line 37: Check/rewrite sentence “This method …  generate chemicals and toxic releases”

8.      Line 44: Delete “With the developing technology,”. Instead, start sentence with “Theoretical…””

9.      Line 50: “to establish the optimized” ?

10.   Line 52 “Chemical properties of the molecule were investigated using Gaussian calculations, applying B3LYP….”?

11.   Line 60 “time and monitored”?

12.   Line 60 “, and the formation of the expected intermediate N-allyl saccharin was confirmed.”?

13.   Line 61 “This compound was then…, giving an excellent yield of…”?

14.   Line 64 “was fully characterized”?

15.   Table 1 and Figures 2, 3: The postulation of C9-H9B…O1ii as a particularly important interaction seems somewhat arbitrary, especially given the fact that its presence is linked to just one of the disorder components (and there seems to be no obvious equivalent alternative interaction for the second disorder component).

16.   Caption Fig. 3: Delete “direction”.

17.   The first sentence of section “2.2. Crystal Structure Determination” (lines 72-74) should be moved to section “3.3. X-ray Data of Crystal Structure”. Also: “The data collection was carried out 150 K”?

18.   Lines 216-221: The section “The weighted…. even larger” describes routine procedures and should be deleted altogether. This information can be readily obtained from the CIF.

19.   Line 225 Is this the refined occupancy ratio?

20.   Line 225 “were 225 refined with restraints that their geometries be comparable”. Please provide details. Restraints on chemically equivalent 1,1- and 1,2-distances? On temperature factors?

21.   Table 4: First line after “Refinement”: replace "F2" with“F2” (<superscript>2; (meaning“F squared”).

22.   Line 231: P21/c (as in Table 4).

23.   The content of section 4 appears to be more of a summary rather than “Conclusions”.

The English style and Grammar should be checked thoroughly before publication. Several examples have been highlighted in my report.
