Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Evaluation Committee, I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Galaxies Travel Awards:
Andrea Rossi, a post-doctoral fellow from INAF, will attend the conference “Gamma-ray Bursts in the Gravitational Wave Era 2019”, 28 October–1 November 2019, in Yokohama, Japan, to present his paper “A Comparison between Short GRB afterglows and KN170817: Shedding Light on Kilonovae Properties”.
Maria Tiongco, a post-doctoral fellow from Indiana University, will attend the conference “IAU Symposium 351: Star Clusters: from the Milky Way to the Early Universe”, 27-31 May 2019, in Bologna, Italy, to present her paper “Kinematical Evolution of Multiple Stellar Populations in Star Clusters”.
Due to the high quality of applications, this was a difficult decision. We would like to thank all applicants for submitting their excellent CVs and we appreciate the recommendations from senior researchers. I congratulate the winners for their accomplishments.

Galaxies provides an advanced forum for studies related to astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology, including all of their subfields. Different formats, such as specialized research articles, reviews, communications, and technical notes are welcomed. Manuscripts containing original and creative research proposals and ideas are especially appreciated.
We encourage scientists to publish their astronomical observations and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the paper length and full experimental and methodological details, as applicable, should be provided. All papers will be peer reviewed promptly. On behalf of the distinguished members of the editorial board, I extend my welcome to all researchers working on these subjects to contribute to Galaxies.
