Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

(1) Recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and ubiquitous and pervasive computing have significantly enhanced the efficiency and complexity of connected devices. These technological advancements have led to notable improvements in IoT solutions across various industries and aspects of daily life. Moreover, the recent emergence of AI and openAI technologies is expected to shape future trends in IoT and pervasive computing.

As IoT-based solutions continue to evolve, the integration of AI and IoT technologies is expected to result in even more intelligent and autonomous solutions. This integration will likely involve seamless communication between advanced and intelligent devices and complex AI algorithms. However, from a user experience perspective, there is a design concern that must be addressed: specifically, how should researchers avoid and conceal the complexity of these solutions from end users? To overcome this challenge, it is imperative that we develop principles, theories, and guidelines for human-computer interactions in order to ensure that the complexity of these technologies remains transparent and user-friendly.

(2) The objective of this Special Issue is to integrate the technological advancements and AI developments into daily life, while emphasizing the importance of human-computer interaction and user experience perspectives. By combining these elements, this Issue aims to advance our understanding of how advanced technologies can be designed and implemented in a user-friendly and accessible manner.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
