Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We live in a world where people and their surrounding environments are becoming increasingly connected. Smart cities, equipped with the Internet of Things, present a huge opportunity to make the world a better and safer place. As the software and hardware capabilities of devices continue to improve, we are seeing an unprecedented number of devices with varying computation and communication capabilities connecting with each other on the Internet. These devices generate a massive amount of data and perform computations to solve complex problems.

The advent of new technology has brought about new challenges in scalability, privacy, and security. Additionally, it has also supported the growth of alternative computational paradigms such as edge computing, communication standards such as 5G technology, and impactful applications that use the technology. We invite high-quality submissions to the Special Issue on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Technology and applications for smart cities
  • Cloud and edge computing for IoT
  • Cloud/edge computing-enabled big data analytics for IoT
  • Distributed Systems for IoT Data Analytics
  • Data Quality Metrics for IoT Applications
  • IoT Applications for Smart Cities
  • Middleware for IoT and Smart Cities Applications
  • Privacy, Security and Trust Issues in Smart City and IoT Applications
  • Communication advancements for Smart City and IoT applications
