Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are proposing a Special Issue entitled “Classification, Clinicopathological Features, and Prognosis of Thymomas”. Thymic epithelial tumors are considered rare tumors, but knowledge and innovation regarding their biology, diagnosis, and treatment have evolved rapidly, especially in recent decades, with improvements in diagnostic tools and the spectrum of therapies. Moreover, it is now generally accepted that for these tumors, a multidisciplinary approach is mandatory, involving pathologists, (nuclear medicine) radiologists, neurologists, surgeons, and oncologists, and the integration of these figures for thymomas management may lead to a better comprehension of this disease, with important improvements on survival outcome.

For these reasons, we are proposing a specific issue that includes a holistic approach to these tumors, from diagnosis to treatment, with the aim to give complete indications for actual thymoma management, but also looking at perspectives for treatment and long terms outcomes.
