Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Pediatric valve disease remains a rare but difficult issue in congenital heart disease. Due to the small annular size and the absence of appropriate prosthetic valves for transplantation, as well as the high postoperative mortality rate and serious anticoagulation-related issues, valve repair has become the preferred treatment, rather than replacement surgery. However, the heterogeneity of anatomy and pathogenesis make the diagnosis and repair-oriented strategy challenging. In fact, the diagnosis and management of pediatric valve disease still heavily relies on the experience of the attending physician, highlighting the significance of a skillful medical team in ensuring a favorable patient prognosis.

The aim of this Special Issue is to bring attention to the primary issues and controversies regarding the diagnosis and management of pediatric valve disease. In this Special Issue, we are looking for the latest original articles, case reports or reviews to share medical experience with colleagues worldwide. It is our hope that this collaboration will lead to better prognosis for patients with pediatric valve disease.
