Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The purpose of our special issue is to provide an overview of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and to provide evidence-based recommendations for its diagnosis and management. Cerebrovenous thrombosis (CVST) accounts for only 0.5% of all strokes. It has variable clinical presentation and it's diagnosis might be challenging at times. Delays in timely diagnosis and treatment initiation might lead to poor neurological outcome. A clinical suspicion in conjunction with neuroradiological diagnostic support are required in the diagnosis. Our special issue focus on current knowledge on the risk factors, challenges with diagnosis, neuro-imaging, management options with focus on the role of endovascular mechanical thrombectomy , thrombolytic therapy and direct oral anticoagulants and also prognosis of CVST in adults, and highlights some areas for future research.
