Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Cancers 2023 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Nicolas Jacquelot.

Dr. Nicolas Jacquelot is an early career investigator focused on increasing our understanding of the role and function of the immune system in cancer. The overarching goal of his research program is to improve patient prognosis through the development of new therapeutics for immune intervention. For the past ten years, he worked on his PhD at the Gustave Roussy Institute, the first European Cancer Research Centre, under the supervision of Professor Laurence Zitvogel, one of the world's leading tumor immunologists; then worked at the laboratory of the internationally renowned immunologist Professor Gabrielle Belz at The Walter and Eliza Hall Research Institute, the oldest medical research center in Australia; and joined the laboratory of the distinguished Professor Pamala Ohashi, an internationally recognized tumor immunologist, at the Princes Margaret Cancer Center in Toronto, Canada. In 2023, he was recruited to the University of Calgary as an Assistant Professor to lead an independent research program within the tumor immunology and immunotherapy field. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Nicolas Jacquelot for his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Nicolas Jacquelot will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before the end of 2024 in Cancers after peer-review, and an electronic certificate.

We would like to thank all the nominators from various fields of study for their participation and all the Award Committee Members for their evaluation of the many excellent nominations.
