Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue focuses on how developments in artificial intelligence are helping to improve cyber security provision and counteract the actions of those seeking to cause social harm and disruption. Considering the challenges and ethical issues associated with artificial intelligence and its rapidly growing influence, it is of particular interest to determine how the challenges created, both positive and negative, can be dealt with by managers and security specialists in the private and public sectors alike. Hence, this Issue will bring together various researchers that can offer solutions to recurring cyber security-related problems and simultaneously offer new insights into how cyber security policy can be improved to result in the protection of organizations and the wider community. We are open to papers of various types and various methodological approaches. Researchers involved in various industry studies are welcome to submit research for possible publication in this Special Issue. It is hoped that single-discipline, inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary studies will feature in the SI and those that submit a paper will benefit from a rigorous peer review process. Papers submitted for peer review can be theoretical in nature, empirical, or conceptual and written in the form of a literature review. Case studies are also welcome. Both early-career researchers and established authors are welcome to submit papers for review.

This Special Issue will add to the existing literature relating to cyber security and will broaden the base of cyber threat intelligence and counterintelligence, highlighting the processes, concepts and models that can be deployed against an ever-increasing cyber threat. Papers can be specific in nature or broad-based, and should appeal to various audiences including academics, researchers, students, business practitioners and government representatives.
