Journal of Clinical Medicine 2024 Editorial Board Meeting of the Section “Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery/Aesthetic Medicine” Held on 29 January 2024


The Journal of Clinical Medicine (JCM, ISSN: 2077-0383) held an Editorial Board Meeting for the Section “Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery/Aesthetic Medicine” on 29 January 2024. We appreciate the Section Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Roberto Cuomo, for hosting this meeting; there were three Editorial Board Members in attendance.

The meeting started with a presentation about the development of the journal as well as the Section “Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery/Aesthetic Medicine”, with the following information being presented:

  1. Journal history, publication statistics, distribution of scholars (2018–2023), the benefits of open access, journal awards, conference sponsorship, and promotion on social media;
  2. Geographical distribution of the Section’s Editorial Board Members, decision-making statistics, and Section statistics.

The meeting mainly discussed hot topics within the Section, quality control of manuscripts, English editing, tools for detecting plagiarism and AI generation, indexing categories, conference promotions of the Section, etc.

Based on the discussion, the journal intends to keep an eye on trending topics within the Section, investigate new themes, and conduct Special Issues on specific aspects, among other things.

We would like to thank every Editorial Board Member and the academics for their support. We look forward to receiving more suggestions so that we can continue our progress together.

The latest official CiteScore (2022 Scopus data) for the Journal of Clinical Medicine is 5.4, ranking 137/830 (Q1) in the “General Medicine” category. The current Impact Factor of JCM is 3.9 (2022), ranking 58/167 (Q2) in the “Medicine, General & Internal” category.
