The journal Fossils [1], an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed scientific journal concerning all aspects of palaeontology, was launched in April 2023, under the leadership of the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Eric Buffetaut. The journal has published a total of seven articles to date. It has now come to our attention that another publication source, althought registered with a different proper title, is listed in some citation databases exclusively under the English title Fossils. To prevent any confusion among authors and readers, the editorial team has decided to change the title of the journal to Fossil Studies. This alteration has been approved as a minor change, not requiring a modification of the ISSN, avoiding potential confusion and citation issues.
The aims and scope of Fossil Studies remain consistent with those of Fossils: the journal continues to publish papers on all aspects of paleontology and the science of fossils. For a more detailed description of the contents, please refer to the Aims & Scope section in the Journal Menu on the homepage of Fossil Studies [2]. The new title reflects the high scientific standards that the journal strives to achieve.
We appreciate your interest in Fossil Studies. To publish your work under the nonrestrictive CC: BY 4.0 license for immediate dissemination worldwide, please reach out to us.
