Publisher’s Note: Kidney and Dialysis—Merging Together What Should Be Merged!

For many years, even decades, kidney and dialysis conferences brought me around the world, and I was continuously fascinated by the topic itself, the active community, and especially the people involved. I was very pleased when Dr. Shu-Kun Lin, the president of MDPI, encouraged me to start a new kidney journal, because it opened a new space for merging together what should be merged!
As a result, the new journal Kidney and Dialysis [1] attempts to gather a series of components under one roof—interesting and highly motivated people, an international atmosphere respecting different cultures, a wide range of thrilling research topics including the translations approach, and a community of distinguished experts in the field on the Editorial Board, combined with a solid and designated publishing experience.
We are proud to start the journal with a series of contributions from Japan, organized by our local office in Tokyo, followed by a series of Special Issues, which are ready to launch.
The current Editorial Board consists of 40 experts [2], who will monitor and manage not only the contents of the journal but also the different editorial processes, to guarantee fair and efficient results.
The journal follows an author-centered philosophy to ensure that information is shared quickly with other researchers around the world, to stimulate fruitful research without delay.
A wide variety of sections invited their experts to start new Special Issues to build communities around new topics.
Please submit your new ideas and proposals through the journal website
If you are confronted with difficulties getting funding for article-processing fees, please do not hesitate to ask the Editorial Office for discounts or waivers. We aim to be an open access journal in its broader sense, and to find innovative and efficient ways to support our colleagues from emerging countries.
A warm welcome, with a toast to the entire Editorial Board, the reviewers, authors and readers and our Editorial Office, at the launch of Kidney and Dialysis.
