Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

It is recommended that the introduction be revised to include more details on existing work by other scientists related to laser-plasma interaction and gamma-photon generation. Further, it would be nice to have an overview table with the boundary conditions for the best output parameters.

Check if it is really necessary to plot the target areal density up to 800. No significant change is observed above 200. The interesting part is below 200. Is this the full resolution or do the authors have more data points available?

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors studied the high-energy radiation produced in two configurations: laser-electron beam interaction and laser-plasma interaction. The results are interesting. In the past, there are many reports about laser-generated ultra-intense γ-ray. The authors should further explain the difference between this study and previous works. Figure 1 can be optimized to more vividly showInteraction between ultrahigh intensity laser pulses and high-energy electron beams. The parameters (for example, the focus spot size) of ultra-short pulse ultra-high energy laser can be introduced in more detail.
