Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear author(s),

ChatGPT is a very interesting topic to investigate as the use of AI in education demands attention. The manuscript has merit in searching sources that can shed light on this topic. Some comments for further improvement of the manuscript are:

- Research questions and/or purpose of this study should be clearly identified. Instead of saying "We can see from the above that AI has radically changed the way individuals access 123 information, search for and filter information, and has changed the very nature of what 124 information is - due to AI-generated content. In the next section we examine digital liter- 125 acy frameworks and how they deal with information and media literacy - paying partic- 126 ular attention to their engagement with AI, if any"; I would rather transform this in a research question(s). For example, "....it will be therefore interesting to investigate to what extent has AI radically change etc, etc...."

- Limitations of the study as well as questions for further research should be mentioned.

Kind regards,

The editor

Author Response

Dear Editor,

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We have addressed these issues by:

1) Posed the research question more clearly on page 3, line 123.

2) Added a section on limitations, page 8, line 352

3) Added a section on future research, page 8, line 365.

We hope that these changes are to your satisfaction. If you have any other comments, please let us know.

Kind regards

Peter Tiernan

Reviewer 2 Report

In the case of an academic essay, it is not only necessary to present information, but also to demonstrate critical and analytical thinking, offering a well-reasoned argument supported by solid evidence.

I suggest supporting with more evidence and analysis: It should include data, quotations, examples, and other types of evidence that support the claims, and an analysis that explains how this evidence supports the purpose of the essay.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to read our paper and for your valuable feedback.

We have reviewed your comments and have made acknowledgements to the lack of other forms of data as a limitation of our study. We had a very specific focus in our manuscript. We specifically examined digital literacy frameworks and their responses to or acknowledgement of AI and its potential impact on information and media literacy. We have also recommended these as further areas of research.

We hope that these acknowledgements are to your satisfaction.

Kind regards

Peter Tiernan
