Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The subject of financial markets and crises, namely trying to understand the behavior of assets on the stock exchange, is always an interesting and current topic. Despite several models already studied academically, the search for determinants that allow investors and academics to conclude on the path of assets is a relevant academic and social topic.

The authors present a long introduction in my analysis, not separating this point from the literature review. In this sense, I think that the authors should subdivide the introduction presented in two points, the introduction itself and the literature review.

Although the authors fulfill the purpose of an introduction, such as a general framing of the theme, the justification of the choice of the subject to be analyzed, the definition of the objectives to be achieved, referencing some concepts, and the structure of the work. I believe that this subdivision will allow the readers to have a more perceptible and balanced reading.

The same criterion could be used by the authors to subdivide the results. The writers could present the sample, data, and methodology and then present and discuss the results, that is, the regressions after the research question described in point 4, and the data. In my opinion, it would make the paper well-structured, and written in a thoughtful and balanced way.

The paper lacks an overall conclusion, which is an important point in a paper of this interest and value. Where the authors make a complete, clear, and objective summary of all the data of the work, presentation, in synthesis, of the results found or the analysis performed, its significance and interest, as well as the level of achievement of the proposed objectives. Presentation of recommendations and suggestions, inferred from the results or analysis carried out.

As for the bibliography, which is considered a key point in a paper, I believe that the authors comply with the request, that is, more than 50% of the works referenced are from the last 5 years, which proves relevance and significance, as well as a reference to works published in journals of high academic significance.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper entitled “Behavior of banks’ stock market prices during long term crises” was well written! I enjoyed reading it! It respects the journal’s requirements regarding the format. It is well documented!

Nevertheless, I suggest some minor modifications as follows:

1. Do not use abbreviations in the titles/subtitles!

2. Number the equation

3. Carefully double-check the paper for typos and errors (i.e., line 413-space is needed).

4. In the discussion section, I would appreciate seeing more discussion compared to what other authors have found on the topic. (Do not just state that has a positive or a negative effect on something....discuss, why?)

5. Table 6: all used abbreviations should be explained in a footnote of the table.

6. I recommend adding the “Conclusions” section
