This manuscript  proposes a global passive but local active memristor, which has three stable

equilibrium points and two unstable equilibrium points. It is also passive in whole but local active, exhibiting two stable locally active regions and four unstable locally active regions. It was  found  that when the memristor operates in a stable local active region, the memristor-based second-order circuit with a parallel capacitor or a series inductor can produce periodic oscillation. Furthermore, the memristor-based third-order circuit with two energy storage elements, a capacitor and an inductor,  can produce complex chaotic oscillation, forming the simplest chaotic circuit, and so on.

Indeed, this manuscript is a continuation of the recent paper of some the authors above , which has the information

This paper was not included in the references of this manuscript.

-…-The above paper can be included in the references of this manuscript.

-…-Comparisons and differences between both of them can be done.

Here , problem (1) was considered by the authors.

Zero-pole analysis of memristor, frequency response of the memristor, properties of the

memristive circuit in the unstable locally active region of the memristor,

the state equations of the circuit, i.e. equation (13), its equilibrium points, their kinds and so on have been investigated in details. Some related plots have been done with some comments, and more.

The topic of the paper is interesting and its similarity is 25%, acceptable (see the attached PDF file).

However, there are very  minor punctuations errors.

For example, page 2, before  (3), put “,”;

page 3, before “where”, put “,”,  before  (4), (5) put “.”,  line 331, “let us fix… “  should be Let us fix… “ and more.

The whole manuscript should be checked carefully, and necessary corrections can be done.

The following papers on qualitative behaviors of solutions of third  order differential equations can be added to the references of this paper:

I would like to suggest the acceptation of the paper in “Electronics” provided that the suggestions can be completed .

Author Response

Dear Professor:

Thank you for your fantastic work.

The paper have been checked carefully and several mistakes have been fixed.

Reviewer 2 Report

Authors designed a locally active memristor model whose state function is continuous and derivable within the whole real number interval. The manuscript is good but my comments should be done for acceptance.

1) In Table 1, the * should be ×.
2) It is better for announcing further references in line 39,

Author Response

Dear Professor:

  Thank you very much.

I have fix the error in Table 1,chang * to ×.  I prefer use the two artical in further studies.

Best Wishes!
