Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article "Digitalization in the Human Capital Management" provides valuable insights into the readiness of economic entities in Slovakia for digital transformation in the field of human capital management. By employing scientific methods and conducting a comprehensive questionnaire survey over a two-year period, the authors have presented a well-rounded analysis of the current situation.

One of the strengths of this article is the use of various scientific methods, such as Cronbach's alpha, descriptive statistics, and the chi-square test, to analyze the collected data. These methods enhance the reliability and validity of the study, allowing for a more robust examination of the variables under investigation. The inclusion of a large sample size, with responses from 905 participants in 2020 and 561 participants in 2021, further strengthens the study's findings.

The article's findings reveal that digitalization in the context of GDPR is more widely adopted compared to the use of personnel information systems (HRIS). This highlights the importance placed on data protection and privacy regulations, which aligns with the broader digital landscape. Additionally, the confirmation of the assumptions regarding the influence of entity size and ownership type on digital technology adoption provides valuable insights for practitioners and decision-makers.

The article's originality lies in its focus on the current state of digital readiness in human capital management in Slovakia and its extensive questionnaire survey conducted over two years. By building upon previous research and addressing the low rankings of Slovakia within the DESI index, the study adds value to the existing literature.

However, there are a few areas where the article could be improved. First, it would benefit from a more detailed description of the questionnaire design, ensuring transparency and replicability of the study. Additionally, further discussion on the implications of the findings and their potential impact on the overall digitalization efforts in Slovakia would enhance the article's practical relevance.

In conclusion, "Digitalization in the Human Capital Management" provides a valuable contribution to the understanding of digital readiness in Slovakia's economic entities. The article's rigorous methodology, comprehensive survey data, and timely focus make it a worthwhile read for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers interested in human capital management and digital transformation.

The article deals with the current and important issue of digitization in connection with the most important production factor - human resources. I appreciate her logical and high-quality processing.

However, a comparison of the findings of the authors with the findings of other foreign authors is required as part of the discussion.

Thank you for your submission. While I thought there was a contribution with clear implications from the analysis I felt the methodology and conclusion sections could be improved. The research design and sampling could be better explained so it is clear to the reader where the questions and respondents were derived. Mentioning ethical considerations and approval would also assist the paper. Regarding limitations, mitigation of those limitations and further recommendations, these elements needs to be developed to underline the significance and contribution. Good luck with your amendments.

The level of english was generally good, a further proof read would help tighten issues surrounding clarity and expression. The readability was not impacted.
