Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper presents a prototype mobile augmented reality application for assisting the process of learning folk dances. The authors create two animating Avatars of professional dancers starting from data collected by optitrack system. A comparative user-study between AR modality and back projector screen was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the AR application.

The paper is interesting. However, the organization of the text, except for the introduction and background, some time is not very clear.  In addition, the limitations of the study should be described and discussed.

METHODOLOGY

For better understanding, a separate paragraph, written in a clear manner, on the used methodology( i.e. how avatar was created….etc.)  should be added.

116 “First male dancer was asked to put on a suit with markers” add more information and references

159 line the text in the figure is not visible.

EVALUATION

Experimental results are presented in a vague manner. They need to be improved. Are the questionnaires based on Likert scale? what kind of tests have you done on the population? Also, did you check that the data distribution is normal (Shapiro-Wilk test)? If the distribution is not normal, the data are expressed as the median and the interquartile range and not as the average and the standard variation.

For a better readability of the questionnaire results, I suggest using the tables.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper is well explained. I propose these changes:

Section 1 Introduction: Include a graphic schema of the process. It will help reader to understand all the system. Section 4.2: Include a table detailing gender and age of each participant. Section 5.2: Must be explained which Hypothesis contrasts are carried out, and how is calculated p-value.
Table 1 and 2. Change "Performance PS" for "Best Performance PS". And  explain what is Best Performance . To include a table showing mean error for each participant and each joint. So the reader will be able to repeat statistical analysis. Paragraph from line 312 to 321 is bad written. There are inconsistent sentences, and some missing letters.
