Following the comment regarding English language, we made some changes highlighted by using the "Track Changes" function in Microsoft Word.
Comment: The paragraph "study limit" could be integrated in the results section, in order to have a more objective view of the discussion.
Answer: we considered very carefully your comment and we evaluated the possibility to integrate the contents of the paragraph in the Results section. However, the first sentence is a comment based on what is reported in reference 24 and cannot be integrated in the results section. The second sentence is also just a comment that take into consideration the sample size, the number of sampling sites and the opportunity of repeating the survey. These first two points are already reported in the materials and methods section and they don’t represent results. As regards the third point, the authors hope to be able to carry it out in a further research.
However, if the title “Limits of the study” may confuse the reader, we agree to remove it.

A very interesting article. Indeed, little attention is paid to the impact of the use of antibacterial substances in the treatment of humans and animals on wildlife. I was happy to read the text sent to me for review.

The manuscript by Giovanna Zanardi and colleagues describes the author’s investigations into surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in the province of Parma using micromammals animals as bioindicators. The Authors reported for the first time the presence of multi-drug resistant strains in this hosts and concluded that a high prevalence of the isolated strains were resistant to colistin, amikacin and gentamicin. The manuscript is clearly written and logically organized. The content is technically sound, and overall the research is well described. The conclusions are supported by the analysis of the data presented.
I really enjoyed reading this article and I have nothing relevant to comment on.
