The manuscript entitled “ Application of a High-throughput Targeted Sequence AmpliSeq Procedure to Assess the Presence and Variants of Virulence Genes in Salmonella” written by Gao et al. contains scientific information that can be published after a minor revision.

The authors developed an amplicon based sequencing to detect and analyze the virulence gene of Salmonella for assessing the pathogenicity potential.

The manuscript required spelling correction and changes in the singular verb and plural verb correction in many parts.

Line 120: a large numbers of oligonucleotide -> “large numbers of oligonucleotide” or “a large number of oligonucleotide”

This study presents interesting new insights about the pathogenecity of Salmonella and provides a new tool a targeted, amplicon-based next-generation sequencing method (AmpliSeqSalm227VG) for the characterization of Salmonella virulence genes. The paper is sound and the conclusions are based on sufficient data. All necessary information is given.
