Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Please, explain this sentence:

46 This property improvement is related to the effective pinning of mobile dislocations as well as grain/subgrain boundaries

Please change this sentence:

69 By appropriate selection of the alloying elements, the average size of oxide particles in the dispersoid and the average grain size of the ODS EUROFER steel was altered. The yield stress of the ODS EUROFER steel can be adjusted in this way.

69 By appropriate selection of the alloying elements, the average size of oxide particles in the dispersoid and the average grain size of the ODS EUROFER steel was altered, and the yield stress can be adjusted.

Please, list this standard in the references with its title: EN 632 - 2.

Please, list this standard in the references with its title: EN ISO 6507.

Please correct the following sentence:

225 matrix) of the nanoparticles in necessary [28].

225 matrix) of the nanoparticles is necessary [28].

Please explain the following sentence:

227 Chemical composition of the oxide particles was confirmed high-spatial resolution STEM-EDS.

Please, check the following sentence:

297 The indirect strengthening contribution is given by the second part of the Hall-Petch relation describing the grain-boundary strengthening is [27]:

Q: Please, explain this sentence:

46 This property improvement is related to the effective pinning of mobile dislocations as well as grain/subgrain boundaries

A: Sentence was change to: This property improvement is related to the effective pinning of mobile dislocations as well as anchoring grain/subgrain boundaries.

The presence of nanoparticles in ODS caused improvment mechanical properties. This nanoparticles act as obstacles for moving dislocations. The nanoparticles also anchores grain bounduaries and they can not moving and as results of this anchoring nanoparticles prevent coursening of grains a helped keep grain size on low level.

A: Thank you for the suggestion. The change was made in the manuscript.

A: Thank you for the suggestion. The change was made in the manuscript.

Q: Please correct the following sentence:

225 matrix) of the nanoparticles in necessary [28].

225 matrix) of the nanoparticles is necessary [28].

A: Thank you for the suggestion. The change was made in the manuscript.

Q: Please explain the following sentence:

227 Chemical composition of the oxide particles was confirmed high-spatial resolution STEM-EDS.

A: There was missing one part of sentence (word „by“). The sentence is inconsequential with this mistake and the word was added into the sentence.

STEM – scanning transition electron microscopy. The EDS analysys of oxide particles were made by the scanning mode during TEM observation of samples. This observation method allows us to see particles under better resolution as standart TEM mode.

Q: Please, check the following sentence:

297 The indirect strengthening contribution is given by the second part of the Hall-Petch relation describing the grain-boundary strengthening is [27]:

A: Thank you for the suggestion. The second „is“ was left in the sentence during revisions which were made during writing of manuscript and now was deleted.

Thank you for your revision.

Reviewer 2 Report

In this manuscript, new results concerning with the strengthening of ODS steels, focusing on the factors which control the dispersion strengthening contribution to the yield strength of these steels.

The manuscript can be published in Metals in the present form.

Reviewer 3 Report

The article by title: "ODS EUROFER steel strengthened by Y-(Ce, Hf, La, Sc, and Zr) complex oxides" is well written.

Figures 1, 2, 3, 4 show relationships in the form of curves in different colors. It is clearly visible, but changing the graphic form to shades of gray, can be difficulty in reading the data from these graphs. Maybe it would be worth it in a different way mark data on graphs?

The entire list of references (line 344) contains double numbering, for example "1" and "[1]", this is edit error,

"1. [1] Tavassoli AAF, Diegele E, Lindau R, Luzginova N, Tanigawa H. Current status and recent research
achievements in ferritic/martensitic steels. Journal of Nuclear Materials. 2014;455:269-76."

please correct the literature.

A: All four figures were remade to better reading for printing in shades of grey scale. Were added labels to unambiguous identification of the curves.
