Reviewer 2 Report

In this manuscript, the authors identified in 7 studies the role of accompanying patients (AP) in the process of health care and highlighted the ethical foundation in a different relationships between AP and the patient, AP and the clinical team, AP and health organization.

This topic is very interesting, and helpful for increasing the quality of healthcare in chronic illness, but deserves further scientific attention, especially in some specific domains (cancer, mental health).

The methodology and results are well structured and presented.
