On Semi-Continuous and Clisquish Functions in Generalized Topological Spaces

Abstract

:
In this paper, we will focus on three types of functions in a generalized topological space, namely; lower and upper semi-continuous functions, and cliquish functions. We give some results for nowhere dense sets and for second category sets. Further, we discuss the nature of cliquish functions in generalized metric spaces and provide the characterization theorem for cliquish functions in terms of nowhere dense sets.

1. Introduction

Generalized topological spaces were introduced by Császár in [1]. Different types of continuity in topological and generalized topological spaces were analyzed in ([2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11]). Frolik [12] characterized Baire spaces using semi-continuous functions in topological spaces. In continuation, cliquish functions have been analyzed (by Ewert [13]) in a Baire space using sequences, and these functions were introduced by H. P. Thielman [14], whose importance are discussed in ([15,16,17]). Using these aspects in generalized topological spaces, Korczak-Kubiak et al. [18] introduced two types of nowhere dense sets along with lower and upper semi-continuous functions, where they realized some properties of cliquish functions on Baire spaces. These served as a support to develop two sections of theory, one being a game similar to the well-known Banach–Mazur game (an infinite topological game) and the other centering on set function games.
Through these last references, we note that the theme they expose contributes to the development of topological theory. However, within this topic, it is interesting to investigate the characteristics of a function’s domain in generalized topological spaces, or to determine whether or not a given set is a set nowhere dense; or whether a given map is a lower (upper) semi-continuous function, or is a cliquish function. These reasons provide the inspiration for us to present two sections of new results in generalized topological spaces.
The paper is presented as follows: Section 3, where μ , η , ζ will denote generalized topologies; and as always, we are looking for new properties, we prove on a strong generalized topological space, new properties for nowhere dense sets and second category sets. In addition, we examine the relations between μ -lower (upper) semi-continuous functions and ( μ , η ) -lower (upper) semi-continuous functions.
Section 4, as always it is important to distinguish the results, thus we give some characterization theorems for cliquish functions on a Baire space by using nowhere dense sets in generalized metric spaces. Furthermore, preserving theorems of cliquish functions are investigated.
With these results, the two classical generalized topologies μ and μ are considered, and it subsequently becomes possible to easily find out whether a given set is μ -nowhere dense ( μ -nowhere dense) or is not in a strong Baire space. We obtain some results to check in a hyperconnected space whether a given function is η -lower (upper) semi-continuous or ( η , ζ ) -lower (upper) semi-continuous function, and also, whether they characterize the cliquish functions in terms of nowhere dense sets in a generalized metric space. In doing so, the results will prove useful to explore the nature of the set of all points in the domain of a given function.

2. Preliminaries

Let X be a non-null set. From [1]; a collection μ of subsets of X is a generalized topology on X if it contains the empty set and it closed under arbitrary union, thus the pair ( X , μ ) called as a generalized topological space (GTS). Furthermore, it is called a strong generalized topological space (sGTS) if X μ . On the other hand, if Q μ , then Q is called a μ-open set, and if X Q μ , then Q is said to be a μ-closed set. For D X , the interior of D denoted by i μ D , is the union of all μ -open sets contained in D and the closure of D denoted by c μ D , is the intersection of all μ -closed sets containing D . For simplicity of notation, let us denote i D and c D to mitigate any confusion.
In what follows, we present some definitions and lemmas that are found in [18]. We denote a generalized topology by μ . In order to provide definitions, some sets will be defined beforehand.

Lemma 1. 
Let ( X , μ ) be a generalized topological space and L X be a nowhere dense set. Then, c μ L and any subset of L, is nowhere dense set.
Lemma 2. 
If ( X , μ ) is a sGTS which is sBS, then ( X , μ ) is Baire.
Other sets to be used are:

([22]). In a GTS ( X , μ ) , countable union of a μ-meager set is μ-meager.

3. Semi-Continuous Functions

In this section, we list and prove some properties between kinds of nowhere dense sets and second-category sets in an sGTS. These properties are useful for checking whether a set is μ -nowhere dense ( μ -nowhere dense) or not in a strong Baire space. In addition, the meaning of the collections L ( η ) and L ( η , ζ ) in hyperconnected spaces are examined. We give the necessary condition to explore whether or not a function is in L ( η ) , L ( η , ζ ) . Furthermore, we find new results for these functions in a Baire space. We start by showing that μ μ .
Lemma 5. 
If ( X , μ ) is a sBS, then μ μ .
Proof. 
Let P μ . Then, P = t ( P 1 t P 2 t P n t t ) , where P 1 t , P 2 t , , P n t t μ . Take Q k = P 1 k P 2 k P n k k for some k such that Q k . Since each P i k μ with i = 1 n P i k and ( X , μ ) is a sBS, Q k is of μ-II category. Since Q k P and superset of μ-II category is of μ-II category, we have that P μ . Therefore, μ μ . □
Example 1 below shows that the hypothesis in Lemma 5 cannot be neglected.
Example 1. 
Let X = { p , q , r , s } and

Next, we obtain some inclusion between the sets N ( μ ) , N ( μ ) ; M ( μ ) , M ( μ ) ; C ( μ ) , C ( μ ) and μ -residual, μ -residual sets, in an sBS.
Theorem 1. 
If ( X , μ ) is a sBS, then:
  • N ( μ ) N ( μ ) .
  • M ( μ ) M ( μ ) .
  • C ( μ ) C ( μ ) .
  • Every μ-residual set is μ -residual.
Proof. 
1. Assume that Q N ( μ ) , whereby by Lemma 1 it follows that c μ Q N ( μ ) , and so c μ Q M ( μ ) . Suppose that i μ c μ Q , whereby i μ c μ Q . Since μ μ , there is L μ ˜ such that L c μ Q .
As L μ ˜ , by Lemma 5, we have that L μ ˜ . Since superset of μ -II category set is of μ -II category, we have that c μ Q μ ˜ , ; however, this is not possible. Therefore, Q N ( μ ) . Items 2., 3. and 4. are proved in a similar manner. □
Example 3 below shows that the converse part of 1., in Theorem 1 is not true.
Example 3. 
Consider the GTS ( X , μ ) , where:
X = { p , q , r , s , t } and μ = { , { q , r } , { p , q , r } , { p , q , s } , { p , q , r , s } } .
Thus, ( X , μ ) is a sBS and

Now, take H = { p , r , s , t } so i μ c μ H = i μ H = and so H is a μ -nowhere dense set in X . However, i μ c μ H = i μ X = { p , q , r , s } , for that H is not a μ-nowhere dense set in X .
The same results of Theorem 1 instead of an sBS are obtained in a GTS, but with an additional property.
Theorem 2. 
Let ( X , μ ) be a GTS such that i μ ( J 1 J 2 J n ) , where J 1 , , J n μ with J 1 J 2 J n . Thus, the items of Theorem 1 are given.
Proof. 
It is enough to prove that N ( μ ) N ( μ ) . Let Q N ( μ ) and suppose that i μ c μ Q . Note that i μ c μ Q = , and moreover i μ c μ Q because μ μ . Therefore, there exists J μ ˜ such that J c μ Q , for that J = t ( J 1 t J 2 t J n t t ) where J 1 t , J 2 t , , J n t t μ . The rest are tested in a similar manner. □
Example 4 shows that the necessary condition in Theorem 1 cannot be dropped.
Example 4. 
Consider a GTS ( X , μ ) , where:

Let K = { p , q } μ ˜ so K M ( μ ) , whereby ( X , μ ) is not a BS. Therefore, ( X , μ ) is not an sBS. Now,

Next, we prove other inclusions but for sets N ( μ ) , N ( μ ) ; M ( μ ) , M ( μ ) ; C ( μ ) , C ( μ ) , and μ -residual, μ -residual sets, in a Baire space.
Theorem 3. 
If ( X , μ ) is a Baire space, then:
  • N ( μ ) N ( μ ) .
  • M ( μ ) M ( μ ) .
  • C ( μ ) C ( μ ) .
  • Every μ-residual set is μ -residual.
Proof. 
We give the proof for 1.. Let Q N ( μ ) so i μ c μ Q = . Assume that i μ c μ Q . As μ μ then i μ c μ Q , so there exists a set J μ ˜ such that J c μ Q .
As, J μ ˜ so c μ Q is of μ -II category set, since super set of μ -II category is of μ -II category. However, c μ Q M ( μ ) whereby i μ c μ Q = . Hence Q N ( μ ) . Therefore, N ( μ ) N ( μ ) . The rest are tested in a similar manner. □
Example 5 below shows that the reverse implication of Theorem 3 part 1., is not true.
Example 5. 
Consider the generalized topological space ( X , μ ) , where X = [ 0 , 5 ] and
μ = { , [ 0 , 3 ) , ( 2 , 4 ] , [ 0 , 4 ] } .
Then, ( X , μ ) is a BS and we get that,

Let H = [ 0 , 2 ] [ 3 , 5 ] . So that i μ c μ H = i μ H = . Therefore, H is a μ -nowhere dense set in X . However, i μ c μ H = i μ X = [ 0 , 4 ] , so that H is not a μ-nowhere dense set in X .
The following Theorem 4 gives the relations between different types of subsets with respect to the generalized topologies μ and μ in a strong Baire space.
Theorem 4. 
Let ( X , μ ) be an sBS and sGTS. Then:
  • N ( μ ) M ( μ ) .
  • M ( μ ) M ( μ ) .
  • C ( μ ) C ( μ ) .
  • Every μ -residual set is μ -residual set.
Proof. 
It is enough to prove 1.. Let P N ( μ ) . By hypothesis and Lemma 3, P M ( μ ) so that P M ( μ ) , by Theorem 1 and the fact that ( X , μ ) is a sBS. □
Next, Example 6 shows that the condition “ ( X , μ ) is an sBS” cannot be omitted in Theorem 4.
Example 6. 
Let us consider again
X = { p , q , r , s } and μ = { , { p , r } , { q , r } , { p , s } , { p , q , r } , { p , r , s } , { q , r , s } , X } .

The below Theorem 5 directly follows from Lemmas 3 and 4.
Theorem 5. 
Let ( X , μ ) be a μ-II category space. Then:
  • Every μ -meager is μ-meager.
  • Every μ -residual is μ-residual.
  • Every μ-II category set is of μ -II category.
Now, we obtain some results between the generalized topologies, semi-continuous functions, and the hyperconnected condition.
Theorem 6. 
If ( X , η ) is a hyperconnected space where η { μ , μ , μ } , then J is η-residual for every J η ˜ .
Proof. 
Let J η ˜ . As ( X , η ) is a hyperconnected space so J D ( η ) . Hence, i η ( X J ) = and so X J N ( η ) , since X J is η -closed. Hence, X J M ( η ) . Thus, J is a η -residual set in X .
The following Example 7 shows the necessity of hyper-connectedness in Theorem 6.
Example 7. 
Consider the generalized topological space ( X , μ ) being
X = { p , q , r , s } and μ = { , { p , q } , { p , s } , { r , s } , { p , q , s } , { p , r , s } , X } .
So:
  • ( X , μ ) is not a hyperconnected space. Because { p , q } μ ˜ , but { p , q } D ( μ ) . Take W = { r , s } thus W μ ˜ and X W = { p , q } . Here { p } is of μ-second category set, so that X W M ( μ ) . Thus, W is not μ-residual.
  • In this part,
    μ = { , { p } , { s } , { p , q } , { p , s } , { r , s } , { p , q , s } , { p , r , s } , X } .
    Obviously, ( X , μ ) is not a hyperconnected space. Take D = { p } , then D μ ˜ and D D ( μ ) . Let K = { s } , thus K μ ˜ and X K = { p , q , r } . Furthermore, { p } is of μ -II category, so that X K is of μ -II category. Therefore, K is not μ -residual.
  • With

    we have that ( X , μ ) is not a hyperconnected space. Here { p } μ ˜ , but { p } D ( μ ) . Take O = { p , q } then O μ ˜ and X O = { r , s } , but { s } is of μ -II category. This implies X O is not in M ( μ ) , which implies that O is not μ -residual.
The reverse implication of Theorem 6 is not true as shown by the following Example 8.
Example 8. 
Let X = { p , q , r , s , t } and
μ = { , { p , q } , { q , r } , { r , s } , { p , q , r } , { p , q , s } , { p , r , s } , { q , r , s } , { p , q , r , s } } .
Here, each G μ ˜ is a μ-residual set in X . Let H = { p , q } , so H μ ˜ and c μ H = { p , q , t } , but c μ H X . Therefore, H is not a μ-dense set in X and hence ( X , μ ) is not a hyperconnected space. In the same manner, we can prove that ( X , η ) is not a hyperconnected space if each G η ˜ is a η-residual set in X, where η { μ , μ } .
The following Example 9 shows that if ( X , μ ) is a BS, then it is not necessarily a hyperconnected space.
Example 9. 
Consider the generalized topological space ( X , μ ) where
X = [ 0 , 5 ] and μ = { , [ 0 , 2 ) , [ 2 , 3 ] , [ 0 , 3 ] } .
Then ( X , μ ) is a BS but not a hyperconnected space. Since, if H = [ 0 , 2 ) , then c μ H = [ 0 , 2 ) ( 3 , 5 ] X .
Theorem 7. 
Let ( X , μ ) be a μ-II category space. If ( X , μ ) is hyperconnected, then ( X , μ ) is a BS.
Proof. 
Let L μ ˜ . By hypothesis and Theorem 6, X L M ( μ ) . Suppose L M ( μ ) . By Lemma 4, ( X L ) L M ( μ ) . Hence X M ( μ ) which is not possible. Thus, L C ( μ ) and ( X , μ ) is a Baire space. □
Next, in the rest of the section with a series of theorems in a space hyperconnected, or μ -II category, or strong Baire, the essentials of lower (upper) semi-continuous functions are discussed. Further, the set theory relationship between L ( η ) and L ( η , ζ ) is analyzed. Finally, we study the notation μ defined on [11]. We show that every continuous function is in L ( μ ) .
The below Theorem 8 is an immediate consequence of Theorem 5 and by the definition of L ( μ , η ) .
Theorem 8. 
If ( X , μ ) is a μ-II category space and η { μ , μ , μ } , then L ( μ , η ) L ( μ , η ) .

Theorem 9. 
If ( X , μ ) is a hyperconnected space, then L ( μ ) L ( μ , μ ) .
Proof. 
Consider h L ( μ ) a μ -lower semi-continuous function, t 0 X and β < h ( t 0 ) . By assumption there is W μ ( t 0 ) such that h ( W ) ( β , ) . Since μ μ , W μ ( t 0 ) . By hypothesis and Theorem 6, W is a μ -residual set. Hence h is a ( μ , μ ) -lower semi-continuous function at t 0 and hence h is a ( μ , μ ) -lower semi-continuous function on X . Similar considerations apply to the case of μ -upper semi-continuous function, we get h is a ( μ , μ ) -upper semi-continuous function on X . Therefore, L ( μ ) L ( μ , μ ) .
The proof of the following result is similar to that of Theorem 9.
Theorem 10. 
If ( X , η ) is a hyperconnected space and η { μ , μ , μ } , then L ( η ) L ( η , η ) .
The following Example 10 shows that the condition “ ( X , μ ) is a hyperconnected space” can not be dropped in Theorem 9.
Example 10. 
Take X = [ 0 , 3 ] and
μ = { , [ 0 , 2 ) , [ 1 , 3 ] , [ 2 , 3 ] , [ 0 , 3 ] } .
Thus:

If H = [ 2 , 3 ] μ ˜ , then H is not a μ -dense set in X . Therefore, ( X , μ ) is not a hyperconnected space.

4. Characterizations of Cliquish Functions

In this section, cliquish functions on generalized metric spaces are examined, and several properties of these are obtained. Moreover, we characterize cliquish functions using nowhere dense sets in Baire spaces. With these results, we conclude that the set of all discontinuity points of a real valued function is either a meager set or not, but in a generalized topological space. Finally, we propose some results to examine whether a function is cliquish or not.
The pair ( X , Ω ) is called a generalized metric space [18] (briefly, GMS) if Ω = { σ σ is a metric on Q σ X } . Denote μ Ω , the family of Ω-open sets [18] in ( X , Ω ) , more precisely, K μ Ω if and only if for each r K , there is σ Ω and ε > 0 such that B σ ( r , ε ) K , where B σ ( r , ε ) = { s d o m ( σ ) σ ( r , s ) < ε } and d o m ( σ ) means domain space of σ . So, the pair ( X , μ Ω ) is a generalized topological spaces.
The following Theorem 20, is a simple method to explore whether or not a set is residual in a generalized metric space, thus reducing the computational complexity.

In a generalized metric space, we encounter some difficulty in analyzing the meaning of a set of continuity points of a given function. Theorem 21 below easily concludes the nature of this set.

Theorem 25 reduces the complexity for finding whether a given function in a generalized metric space is ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish.

Case-2: If t c μ Ω Q 0 and t Q 1 , by (4), h ( t ) = 1 . Since h is a constant function on Q 1 , t is a μ Ω -continuity point of h , which is not possible.
Case-3: Assume that t Q 0 and t c μ Ω Q 1 . By (4) must be h ( t ) = 0 . Since h is a constant function on Q 1 , t is a μ Ω -continuity point of h , which is a contradiction.
Case-4: Suppose t Q 0 and t Q 1 . Then, t Q 0 Q 1 , but Q 0 Q 1 = .

In a Baire space, the existence of a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function using μ Ω -nowhere dense sets can be found straightforwardly by Theorem 27.
Theorem 27. 
Let ( X , μ Ω ) be a GTS and Q 0 , Q 1 X . If ( X , μ Ω ) is a BS, then the following are equivalent.
  • There is a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function h : X R such that Q 0 [ h = 0 ] and Q 1 [ h = 1 ] .

Proof.

Theorem 28 provides the easier route to finding the presence of ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function using μ Ω -meager sets.

Then, t Q n for all n = 0 , 1 . Thus, t Q or t i μ Ω ( Q ) and t Q + or t i μ Ω ( Q + ) . So, we have four cases:
Case-1: Assume that t Q and t Q + , Hence, t [ h 0 ] and t [ h 0 ] for which we get four cases.
  • h ( t ) > 0 and h ( t ) < 0 .
  • h ( t ) > 0 and h ( t ) = 0 .
  • h ( t ) = 0 and h ( t ) < 0 .
  • h ( t ) = 0 .
Thus, all the cases are not possible and our assumption is not true.
Case-2: If t Q and t i μ Ω Q + , then h ( t ) = 1 , by (5). Since h is a constant function on i μ Ω Q + , t is a μ Ω -continuity point of h , which is not possible.
Case-3: Suppose t i μ Ω Q and t Q + . Then, h ( t ) = 1 , by (5). Since h is a constant function on i μ Ω Q , t is a μ Ω -continuity point of h, but t is a μ Ω -discontinuity point of h .
Case-4: Assume that t i μ Ω Q and t i μ Ω Q + . Consider t i μ Ω ( Q ) , thus h ( t ) = 1 . Now, t i μ Ω ( Q + ) so h ( t ) = 1 . In both cases, t is a continuity point of h , which is not possible.
Thus, all the cases are not possible. Hence, t L 0 and so D μ Ω ( h ) L 0 , whereby D μ Ω ( h ) is μ Ω -meager in X . Since ( X , μ Ω ) is a BS, h is a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function on X .
The following Theorem 29 provides an easier way to check the nature of the subsets of a domain space using the cliquish function.
Theorem 29. 
Let ( X , μ Ω ) be a GTS and Q , Q + X . If ( X , μ Ω ) is a BS and if there is a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function g : X R such that Q [ g < 0 ] and Q + [ g > 0 ] , then Q Q + = and the sets Q c μ Ω ( Q + ) , Q + c μ Ω ( Q ) are μ Ω -meager.
Proof. 
Let g be a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function such that Q [ g < 0 ] and Q + [ g > 0 ] . Thus, Q Q + = . By hypothesis and Theorem 28, we have that [ g < 0 ] i μ Ω ( [ g < 0 ] ) and [ g > 0 ] i μ Ω ( [ g > 0 ] ) are μ Ω -meager set. Since Q c Q + [ g < 0 ] i μ Ω ( [ g < 0 ] ) and Q + c Q [ g > 0 ] i μ Ω ( [ g > 0 ] ) , we have that Q c μ Ω ( Q + ) and Q + c μ Ω ( Q ) are μ Ω -meager in X .
The two Theorems 30 and 31 below provide shortcuts for finding the existence of ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function in a sBS using μ Ω -meager sets.
Theorem 30. 
Let ( X , μ Ω ) be a sGTS which is sBS, and Q 0 , Q 1 X . So, the following are equivalent.
  • There is a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function g : X R such that Q 0 = [ g = 0 ] and Q 1 = [ g = 1 ] .
  • Q 0 Q 1 = , the sets c μ Ω ( Q 0 ) Q 0 , c μ Ω ( Q 1 ) Q 1 are μ Ω -meager and c μ Ω ( Q 0 ) c μ Ω ( Q 1 ) is μ Ω -nowhere dense in X .

1. ⇒ 2. Note that Q 0 Q 1 = . Take r c μ Ω ( Q 0 ) Q 0 and define the set L = R { 0 } . In the same way as in the demonstration of Theorem 26 part 1. ⇒ 2., we get c μ Ω ( Q 0 ) Q 0 D μ Ω ( h ) . By hypothesis and Lemma 2, we get ( X , μ Ω ) is a BS. With similar considerations in the proof of Theorem 26 part (1. ⇒ 2.), we get c μ Ω ( Q 0 ) c μ Ω ( Q 1 ) is in N ( μ Ω ) .

  • There is a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function g : X R such that Q 0 [ g = 0 ] and Q 1 [ g = 1 ] .

Proof. 
1.2. By hypothesis, Q 0 Q 1 = , and by Theorem 30 it turns out c μ Ω ( [ g = 0 ] ) c μ Ω ( [ g = 1 ] ) N ( μ Ω ) . Since the subset of a nowhere dense set is nowhere dense, we have that c μ Ω ( Q 0 ) c μ Ω ( Q 1 ) N ( μ Ω ) .
2.1. With same considerations in the proof of Theorem 26 part 2.1., and using Theorem 30, we get the proof. □
The following Theorem 32 states that in order to investigate the existence of ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function in a sBS, divide the domain into two disjoint sets and verify whether the particular subset of those sets is μ Ω -meager or not.
Theorem 32. 
Let ( X , μ Ω ) be an sGTS, which is sBS, and Q , Q + X . So, the following are equivalent.
  • There is a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function g : X R with Q = [ g < 0 ] and Q + = [ g > 0 ] .
  • Q Q + = and the sets Q i μ Ω ( Q ) , Q + i μ Ω ( Q + ) are μ Ω -meager in X .
Proof. 
1. ⇒ 2. By hypothesis, Q Q + = . Define a function g = m a x { g , 0 } . Note that g is ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish and [ g = 0 ] = X Q . By Theorem 30, it turns out c μ Ω ( [ g = 0 ] ) [ g = 0 ] M ( μ Ω ) . Obviously,
Q i μ Ω ( Q ) = c μ Ω ( X Q ) ( X Q ) = c μ Ω ( [ g = 0 ] ) [ g = 0 ] .
Therefore, Q i μ Ω ( Q ) is in M ( μ Ω ) . Similarly, we show that Q + i μ Ω ( Q + ) is a μ Ω -meager set in X .

Theorem 33 states the significance of subsets of domain space, by checking whether the existence of ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function or not.

Proof. 
Let g be a ( μ Ω , μ Ω ) -cliquish function such that Q [ g < 0 ] and Q + [ g > 0 ] . Thus, Q Q + = . By hypothesis and Theorem 32, it turns out

Here, Q c Q + [ g < 0 ] i μ Ω ( [ g < 0 ] ) and Q + c Q [ g > 0 ] i μ Ω ( [ g > 0 ] ) . By (7) and the fact that the subset of a meager set is meager, the sets Q c μ Ω ( Q + ) , Q + c μ Ω ( Q ) are in M ( μ Ω ) . □

5. Conclusions

The various properties for nowhere dense sets and for second category sets in a strong Baire space have been evaluated. The evaluation was performed with the help of interior and closure components for nowhere dense sets and similarly meager sets components for second category sets. A new relationship between L ( η ) and L ( η , ζ ) has obtained from residual sets. Further, the necessity of meager sets in a Baire space is studied for proving some equivalent conditions for cliquish functions using nowhere dense sets. Hence, the computational complexity of a given function from the collection of continuity points is reduced using meager sets.
