Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors need to be congratulated to this highly interesting study. It covers a relevant topic in follow-up (FU) for NMIBC. The authors aimed to investigate the clinical relevance of new diagnostic tools, such as an mRNA-based urine test (XPERT© Bladder Cancer Monitor) and Narrow Band Imaging©, and compared them with established follow-up procedures. They have performed a high quality, i.e. prospective study at a single center and evaluated not only XBCM but also NBI for routine FU in a real-world setting, providing significant information for practising urologists. The authors managed to include 139 patients with more than 300 examinations providing strong results and have drawn well-balanced conclusions.

Author Response

Both reviewers have recommended a spell check and English revisions:

Reviewer 1 & 2: English language and styles are fine/minor spell check required

Editor’s suggestion: “… one of the referees has suggested that your manuscript should undergo extensive English revisions, please address this issue during revision. We propose that you use one of the editing services listed at https://www.mdpi.com/authors/english or have your manuscript checked by a native English-speaking colleague...."

Venkat Ramakrishnan (M.D., PhD) is a native English-speaking U.S. citizen and works at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston ((Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA). Together with him, we have now invested a lot of time and effort in perfecting the manuscript with regard to the English language, correcting errors and making it even more readable overall. I hope this is in accordance with your wishes.

We would greatly appreciate if you would consider our manuscript for publication in your journal.

Sincerely,

Lukas Hefermehl, M.D.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors wanted to present the role od NBI and xpert Cancer monitor in the diagnosis of high grade non muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

I find the english form is good.

The topic is well and extensively described in the introduction section.

Materials and Methods are well stated and the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study are correct and reliable.

More over authors report a sort of report of the other available tehcnologies related to evaluate the same outcomes. I found probably this review probably too much and not stated in the title and in the introduction. However it works in the manuscript and results useful to the reader.

Overall, i found the manuscript well structured and i would recommend it for pubblication
