Smart Rural Village’s Healthcare and Energy Indicators—Twin Enablers to Smart Rural Life
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The present paper although very interesting on the side of the approach and the references studied and listed, it lacks a solid structure - there are two many small chapters - and some in-depth analysis of the articles cited; i.e. a list with quantitative indexes, a concise table indexing the papers information.
Please consider my comments prior to the acceptance of the manuscript.
Author Response
List of papers, sources and themes derived from the papers listed in a tabular format. The main reason for smaller chapters is to make the themes stand out and make it easy for the reader to follow.
Reviewer 2 Report
I have thoroughly reviewed the manuscript. It seems fine to me. However, the Introduction Section is little weak and can be improved by adding more information.
Author Response
Introduction section revamped to include the domains as requested.

Thank you for the opportunity to read the paper ‘Smart rural village’s healthcare and energy indicators-twin enablers to smart rural life’ submitted to Sustainability. Author(s) applies for a systematic review for smart rural villages and energy main indicators for Sustainable Development. The paper is innovative and makes a good contribution to the theme. There are two particular aspects this reviewer would like to include before recommending publication: (i) the diagram needs to be better detailed, namely when it comes to include/exclude published articles. For such a purpose, ‘Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses’ (PRISMA) (Liberati, A., D. Altman, J. Tetzlaff, C. Mulrow, P. C. Gøtzsche, J. Loannidis, and D. Moher. 2009. “The PRISMA Statement for Reporting Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses of Studies that Evaluate Health Care Interventions: Explanation and Elaboration.” Annals of Internal Medicine 151 (4): W-65–W-94, doi:10.7326/0003-4819-151-4-200908180-00136) is recommended; (ii) additionally, a table needs be included in order to give the reader a critical picture of themes, theoretical backgrounds, research designs and research methods that have been used for those articles included in the analysis. Such strategy is quite useful for research guidance, namely, to justify other studies' development – even focusing a different theme, see the example from De Vita, Glauco, Arafet Tekaya, and Catherine L. Wang. 2011. The many faces of asset specificity: A critical review of key theoretical perspectives. International Journal of Management Reviews 13(4): 329-348, doi: https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1468-2370.2010.00294.x. Good luck with your research!
