Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Interesting topic. Congratulations to the authors for a well-articulated research study with value addition to existing literature on online teaching post COVID-19.

This study investigates the factors that influence parents’ intention to choose online learning for primary school students in China’s context of the COVID-19 pandemic and also explores the mechanism of these factors on choice intention. The application of VAM to construct the research model, hypothesis development and mixed research method applied to address the research questions are interesting. The findings of this study are based on empirical research.

Through qualitative research, this paper verified the factors influencing parents' intention to choose online learning in previous studies, found two new factors of online learning continuity and learning attitude development risk, and verified their validity in quantitative research. Overall the flow is good. The article provides sufficient background information and a literature review as well. The sub-topics are linked well. Reasonably well-connected discussion and conclusion with supporting analysis.

Thank you for your review.

We are honored to have your recognition of our work. We have made some revisions in the revised edition. We will continue to work hard to make our research better. Thank you.

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper focuses on a very important topic and investigates the opinion/satisfaction of parents with online Teaching. The introduction and literature review are well written, but there are a few grammatical mistakes, for example, see line number 41. Also, few sentences are very long, for example 67-69, 106-108, and 143 -147.

The authors mentioned two research questions, but the study should also mention which method/approach is used to answer each research question.

I believe that qualitative analysis results can be improved. For example, it is always good to mention what type of mixed-method approach is used in the study, please refer Creswell, J. W., & Clark, V. L. P. (2017). Designing and conducting mixed methods research. Sage publications. Identify the correct mixed-method approach for the study and do mention that in the research design. Also clearly mention the approach used to measure the trustworthiness of the qualitative data.

I like the quantitative analysis it actually adds value to work.

Overall good work, and I really enjoyed reading the paper.

Thank you for your review.

First of all, according to your suggestions, we carefully examined the complete text and corrected some grammatical errors and some long sentences to improve the reading experience(detailed Changes can view using Microsoft Word's "Track Changes" function).

Second, we modified some of the study designs to make them more transparent. This study adopts the mixed research method of exploratory sequential design(line257-267). The study's first phase used quantitative research methods to explore the main factors influencing primary school parents' choice of online learning for their children in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The phase I study answered the RQ1 of this study. The second stage uses the research results of the first stage as the basis to build a theoretical model, and through the quantitative research, the method to test the theoretical model, the influence of primary school parents to choose online learning factors for their children. This phase of the study answered the RQ2 of this study.

Third, it complements our methods to ensure the reliability and validity of qualitative studies(line344-347). In order to ensure the reliability and validity of coding, a feedback method was used to test the reliability validity of coding. The method is to submit the coding results to two professors in the field of education for review, who evaluate the coding results and guide them to their approval.

Thank you again for your review, which is very helpful to us.
