Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this paper, the authors discussed an approach to estimate the behavior intention of UAV based on the prediction of flight trajectory, and proposed a 4-D trajectory prediction model of UAV based on genetic algorithm. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of this method. Some comments and suggestions are as follows.

  1. What is the geographical scope of the simulation environment?
  2. How to express the error between the predicted trajectory and the real trajectory?
  3. Is the experimental data of UAV real or simulated?
  4. When SVR prediction is adopted, how to select parameter combination by grid search method?
  5. In combination prediction based on genetic algorithm, what is the coding method of weight?

Reviewer 2 Report

The current paper discusses the 4d trajectory model for UAV trajectory prediction using a genetic algorithm. The idea and the combined work are commendable. The identification of the protected zone and the subsequent safe trajectory form the highlights of the article. The limitations of the present model are also stated which provide a future scope of research. The reviewer enjoyed going through the manuscript. However, whether the manuscript is suitable for this journal or not is still confusing. Perhaps it might be suitable for the journal 'aerospace' in mdpi. If the editor feels this manuscript is of significance to the journal and its readers, the reviewer has no problem.

The manuscript is organized and presented well. The language is clear. There are a few minor corrections that should be done before accepting the manuscript.

  • Fig - 5,6,7,8,9: The axis systems are not marked with units. It is confusing. Is it pixel or some length? Kindly mark the units.

Because of the above, the reviewer recommends the manuscript be considered after minor revision. Given the authors' knowledge on the subject matter, the reviewer believes that the authors could respond at the earliest.
