Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

A short but very interesting paper. Sustainability and resilience are crucial terms for science and policy chapters. These words are not neutral. Thus the importance to make a clear point is a necessity. The paper clearly highlights the relationships between the two terms and how different interpretations reflect on the real world. The clarification posed by the paper is of great interest to the wide public working on the subject. The bibliography reported gives to the reader the opportunity to deeply approach the way the meaning of the terms can be utilized in different ways.

A minor remark: page 2 line 65 "und" to be changed in "and"
