Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper presents the improved performance of third-order ADRC based on 4th order linear extended state observer particularly in the application of LCL filter based inverter for wind power integration. I have some concern about the manuscript.

  1. I would suggest if you better add following references in your paper regarding ADRC in the application of grid-connected inverter.

[Ref1] "Resonance damping for an LCL filter type grid-connected inverter with active disturbance rejection control," International Journal of Electrical Power and Energy System,2019. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijepes.2019.02.004.

[Ref2] "Disturbance-observer-based control and related methods—An overview," IEEE Trans. On Ind. Electronics, 2016. DOI: 10.1109/TIE.2015.2478397.

[Ref3] "Active disturbance rejection control scheme for reducing mutual current and harmonics in multi-parallel grid-connected inverters", Energies 2019, 12 (22), 4363. https://doi.org/10.3390/en12224363.

[Ref4] Linear ADRC direct current control of grid-connected inverter with LCL filter for both active damping and grid voltage induced current distortion suppression. IET Power Electron. 2018, 11, 1748–1755.

  1. Additionally, you also have to mention the gap in the literature very clearly in the introduction. You have conducted research on the topic of your choice. However, you haven’t reviewed the paper specially on ADRC control of grid-connected inverter to find the gap.
  2. You should write the introduction section again. For understanding you can review this paper.

[Ref3]"Active disturbance rejection control scheme for reducing mutual current and harmonics in multi-parallel grid-connected inverters", Energies 2019, 12 (22), 4363. https://doi.org/10.3390/en12224363.

  1. Your contribution needs to reflect the gap in the research which is possible through introduction section. I am not able to find the gap in your introduction section.
  2. The readability of the article needs to e improved drastically. It is hard to understand.
  3. The reduced order ADRC had been studied already in detail. Why you have conducted research on higher order ADRC? What could be its main advantage? The frequency domain analysis has been already applied. See the above papers I suggested.
  4. In Fig. 7, you have written Chinese language. Please correct it.
  5. You better include the experimental results.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper addresses the domain of wind systems, with immediate application for power invertors. Therefore, the authors focus on the optimization of LARDC structure in LCL inverters. The proposed analysis method in this paper is mainly frequency domain analysis. The proposed research has as a goal the improvement of the stability of bus voltage. The mechanism of improving the ARDC to suppress the bus voltage fluctuation is presented. The advantages in controlling the bus voltage stability are sustained by a series of simulation result. The main idea of this paper is given by analysis of characteristics of frequency domain. The simulation analysis and research show that the noise can be well suppressed in high frequency band.

Comments for the authors

The authors must first use the full name and then the abbreviation (e.g. first used Linear Active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) and then use the abbreviation all over the text

Line 39: linear adRC structure – please either replace it by LADRC or please clarify its meaning

Line 79: Why the differential Tracking State Error Feedback is abbreviates as LSEF? In section “Abbreviation” the authors define LSEF as Linear state error feedback. Please clarify.

Line 121: please define PD controller

Line 146 – the beginning of the section’s title must be uppercase – please modify it accordingly

Line 197 … the graph of frequency domain characteristics is shown in Figure 2 – Maybe Figure 4 – please clarify.

Line 257 … again the reference to the figure “Figure. 6 shows the amplitude..” must be re-checked – Figure 7??

Please re-check all the references throughout to the figures for the entire article and made the necessary correction. There wrong references to the figures starting from Fig 6.

Also check the format for some equations or symbols (e.g. line 306)

The references are not clear in the text. Please place off the references in the text. Only [12] is found in the article. The others are missing.

Overall impression:

A good research, with mathematical model sustained by case studies. Before being published, it needs the afore-mentioned improvements.

This work presents an Improved application of third-order LADRC in wind power inverter. I have some comments about the presented work:

The mathematica analysis is well presented, and the scope of the paper is clear. However, the format quality (images and equations) is poor. I encourage the authors to please improve the format.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The article has been improved compared to the previous version. I would suggest these mandatory changes before this article is being published.

  1. You have cited only 9 references (provided in the manuscript) in the text while other references are not cited properly. Please check it carefully. You need to cite every reference (provided in the reference section of the manuscript).
  2. I would like to suggest you check its English by any native speaker or by any online English checking service. By translation from your language to English may contain many mistakes and it is hard for you to rectify every mistake.
  3. The quality of all simulation figures must be improved like Fig. 4, Fig. 7, Fig. 8, Fig. 9, Fig. 11, Fig. 13, Fig. 14, Fig. 15, Fig. 16, Fig. 17.
