Summary

This book is a printed edition of the Special Issue on ship structures that was published in the Journal of Marine Science and Engineering. It contains an editorial and fifteen peer reviewed research studies in the field of ship structural design, analysis, and degradation. Two studies deal with corrosion degradation in ship structures, while the remaining contributions discuss three major steps for the efficient design and analysis of ship structures, i.e., the modelling of the environment and environmental loads, the analysis of a ship’s structural response, and the definition of criteria for different failure modes of ship structures.
