Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

It is a pleasure to introduce a feature Special Issue dedicated to water within a One Health perspective. Water itself is strictly interconnected in a global dimension, and it is somehow a fundamental leitmotif for approaching a One Health vision. Contributions from different disciplines are very welcome and should describe specific issues representing milestones in the field. The frame is large, comprising technical improvements of monitoring and disinfection technologies, social issues related to climate changes and geopolitical concerns, national policies, and epidemiological reports, regarding the analysis of sustainable use and access to water on a global scale or reporting exemplifying experiences in specific local areas. A main focus of interest involves the availability of guidelines for managing pathogens or preventing health threats. Several objectives can be addressed, including access to safe water as a human right or the recreational use of water as a physical benefit for populations of any age and an opportunity for social wellness in the different continents. In conclusion, the Special Issue will host feature papers approaching one or more of the different questions related to water as an endangered resource to protect as well as an extraordinary opportunity for improving personal, social and environmental health considering effective and sustainable pathways both on a local and a global scale.
