Section Information

The section of New Sensors, New Technologies and Machine Learning in Water Sciences publishes research articles and critical reviews on:

  • New sensors to measure water level, discharge and stream velocity, physical properties (temperature, pressure, PH, …) of water, water quality and contamination, sediment transport, soil moisture, water in the vegetation, groundwater/surface-water connections;
  • New technologies of fixed and mobile monitoring systems including innovative in-situ (on the ground or in the water);
  • Earth observations of the water cycle from Unmmaned Autonomous Vehicles (UAV), Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) and Earth Observation satellites;
  • Big data and machine learning for water sciences;
  • Citizen observations contributing to water sciences.
