Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Neurodegenerative disease is a term referring to a broad spectrum of diseases such as Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson’s and more. The immune system is deeply involved in the progression of such diseases, and modulating the activation of the latter can have a beneficial impact on these pathologies. On the other side, modulating the immune system can also have a detrimental role. The ambiguous role of the immune system is fascinating and could be the key for future treatments.

This Topic encourages contributors to explore the biological and clinical aspects of modulating the immune system and the impact on animal models, symptoms, and potential treatment. An understanding of these mechanisms can help in the development of new therapeutic approaches.

This topic welcomes original research papers as well as critiques, opinion papers and review.
