22–24 May 2024 The 9th Northern European Conference on Travel Medicine (NECTM9)

Copenhagen, Denmark

Best regards and looking forward to NECTM!

The theme of the conference is inspired by the words of the famous Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen “to travel is to live” and our logo by his fairytale “The Flying Trunk”. The scientific program will focus on not only the health risks but also the health benefits of travelling.

In our scientific program, we will concentrate on the most recent developments in the multi-disciplinary field of travel medicine including sustainable travel and climate change. The Scientific Committee is planning for three parallel session tracks, incorporating sessions for scientists, infectious disease specialists, general practitioners, and nurses. The program includes a postgraduate educational course on vaccines arranged in collaboration with ESCMID as well as the Euregional Maastricht Symposium on Immune Compromised Traveller (EUMICT).

We very much look forward to welcoming you to Copenhagen and to being inspired, engaged, and educated together with you all at NECTM9.

5–7 June 2024 The 7th Asia Dengue Summit 2024 (7th ADS 2024)

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

It is our pleasure to extend to you a warm invitation to attend, participate, and immerse yourself in the 7th Asia Dengue Summit, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur from the 5th to the 7th of June 2024. This summit continues the tradition set by its predecessors in Bangkok (2016), Manila (2017), Kuala Lumpur (2018), Jakarta (2019), Singapore (2022) and Bangkok (2023).

Dengue, once confined to Southeast Asia, has now transcended regional boundaries to become a global health concern. The World Health Organization (WHO) sees it fit to name it as one of the ten threats to global health in 2019. WHO has also set targets for member states to try and achieve by 2030. This ADS serves as a pivotal platform for policy makers to network and glean insights into how other countries are progressing towards these objectives.

New advances in vector control, modeling methods as well as new dengue vaccines will open up new strategies to achieve these goals. Strengthening our early detection and appropriate clinical management will reduce the case fatality rates, thereby advancing our pursuit of these critical goals. Our scientific committee is working diligently to bring to you cutting edge information and latest data on all aspects related to dengue infection, ensuring a compresensive and enlightening experence for attendees.

Proposed scope of the scientific symposium:

  • Epidemiology of Dengue
  • Dengue Human Infection Models
  • Dengue Surveillance
  • Pathogenesis and Immunity in Dengue Virus Infection
  • Dengue Vaccine: Preparedness and Implementation Strategies
  • Cost Effectiveness of Vaccine Intervention
  • Advocacy Education Initiatives
  • Dengue Control and Diagnostics
  • Vector Control
  • Aedes Mosquito Interactions

We cordially invite you to join us in Kuala Lumpur for this momentous occasion, where together, we can explore innovative strategies and foster collaborations to address the multifaceted challenges posed by dengue.
